I believe this is the only US coin that shows the Confederate flag on it.

Along with the flag mentioned above, this coin needs to be melted too
You want to cancel (melt) US coins?
Are there any others?

A nice circulated cameo from Julian. I like how toning brought out the details on the obverse, separating the two profiles and enhancing the hair and facial contour.
I started collecting Classic Commems back in 1996. When I was a kid some 55 years ago in the mid-sixties I would look at the back of the Redbook where the fancy expensive coins resided. I thought I would never have a set of those neat coins. When I finally got out of pharmacy school I had a few extra bucks and by 1996 I was able to start collecting these coins. The set was complete by 1999 and listed in the PCGS Registy and pedigreed as the "Overland Trail Collection". It has been upgraded since then to virtually all MS65 or better but ranks in the upper to mid-twenties over the last 10 years. Strangely, the price of these coins have come down so much that the cost of a set is about the same as in 1999. I recently sent the complete collection to CAC with 35 of 50 getting stickered. Its a super competitive set.
Here's my Texas purchased from blurry pictures taken by a woman on eBay who otherwise sold children's perfume. It's an odd purchase that turned out well.
I picked up a Gettysburg MS62 today and it seems like the market for the classic commems and the Gettysburg in particular is pretty hot. High grades and high $$$ are easier to find, but affordable ($500 - $750 ish) coins are tougher to locate. This is a great series to look at and like a few others here I have chosen to buy the issues I like and let others pass.
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin
I like them in green holders and bright white. I love the designs and dont want color distractions. Good thing is they are usually much more reasonably priced when bright white

@Zoins - that Cleveland TV......talk about red shifted photos! I really dislike misleading images.
