1998 P Wide AM Penny?

I think this is my first variety find. Let me know what you think. The first two picks are of the variety, the third is the coin compared to a normal 1998 P Close AM Penny.

Yes sir, you got it! Nice find. Now try to hunt down the big dog. The 1999 Wide AM. Then the proofs. However, those would be the "Close AM". 1998 and 1999 pf.s Good catch.

Back in the day I sold a raw '99 wide AM for almost $100 raw

Cherrypicked a proof set Close AM and flipped for about $250

Hit the pawn shops, flea markets, and coin shows now that you know what to look for...

Opportunity will intersect with your growing circle of competence and knowledge for a bigger score!

That’s awesome. What do you mean by Raw and Cherrypicked? Still new to this hobby so I’m not sure what those terms mean.

Raw.... means ungraded like your above coin

Cherrypicked... means finding a valuable coin for normal value. A typical modern proof coin can be worth a few dollars. A variety or mint error Close AM variety will be worth many multiples of that typical coin.

Probably would be a wise investment to buy both volumes of the Cherrypickers Guide by Bill Fivaz

I forgot to mention this was found in a unopened circulated penny box from my local bank. This is the second box I have searched.
