I just call them "2x2 cotton sleeves". However, I am not a member of EAC...

Anyone have photos?
What is meant by "raw storage in envelopes?"
Are paper envelopes put in the cotton sleeves, or are cotton sleeves put in the envelopes?
“Cloth lined envelopes.” I have seen envelope with the soft liners built in.
Not just for large cents:
PS- Zoins - the liners go into the envelopes.
They’ve always seemed home-made to me. I’m unsure who makes them or what they’re called!

Good to know. I've actually received a number of tokens in these.
I would keep an eye on what is happening to the coins stored in some of them, at least at first. Many years ago I got a batch of them that induced unattractive toning on silver coins.
Interesting touch. Serger type stitching is the expeditious way to keep fabric from fraying. My wife is a quilter, I showed this to her and she said "don't you have archival plastic baggies for that?". Ah yup. Peace Roy

I have not seen these cloth containers before... Learn something here every day. I will stick with the plastic flips and 2x2's for most raw coins. Cheers, RickO
Tightie Whites maybe?
IIRC, years ago, one of the EAC member's wives made these and they were offered for sale at a very reasonable price. They were commonly used to store early coppers.

Just noticed this preview on Heritage where they refer to it as a "cotton-lined envelope".

As noted above people have also called them “Cloth lined envelopes” and "2x2 cotton sleeves".
I have only got them when buying something and never sought them out, so don't recall if there is an official term is or if anyone is still selling them.
Some seem to be all cloth like the one posted above with the half dollar by Walkerguy21D.
Most I have seen had an outer layer of paper. Wonder if that could be a factor in the "...induced unattractive toning on silver coins" noted by BillJones.

Yes, it was Tom Deck and he called them "Cotton Liners". You can still get them, email an inquiry: [email protected]

I should clarify; this is the only non-copper coin I’ve seen stored in one. It was a whim purchase from an old school collector who was at a dealer friend’s table at FUN a few years back. I got the impression it had been in there many years with no ill effects, so I kept it that way.
Raw coppers from the big EAC dealers almost always came with these liners.
These pouches look more like boxers than briefs.
