I wish that it could have been a Proof set instead of a mint set. I missed it by a year.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Yes. I just feel that old because of my lack of tech savviness.
And I cannot be taught. It just won't stick.
Not how my brain works.
Example: my daughter told me she could teach anyone how to use Excel.
A few hours later my wife had to pry my daughter's hands from around my neck.
I was originally going to post a coin from 1913, and then underneath write “Just joking”, followed by a coin from my real birth year, but I see above that a couple of posters have my sense of humor (but theirs is better).
I’ve already posted one but then this came in the mail wanting a contribution for something. It just had that old look in the see through slot. Yep. Old. Now to get all of the junk mail stopped that gets sent to mo wife

Looking at all these old silver coins makes me feel too young. I am Jealous that you guys were born to silver and I was born to clad LOL 😂

I know plenty of younger people that are collecting but they are all into stacking bullion.
Back when most of us older collectors started you could find such a diverse variety of coins in circulation. Now days with more people using credit and debit cards for just about every thing, receiving change is becoming a thing of the past.

This one should be cool on the U.S Coin Forum as it was minted at Denver for the Philippines.
And here is a birth year minus 200 years example -- a late-date Mexico pillar 8 reales, a type coin that would have circulated in early America.
