Not so fast, @tradedollarnut

Incredible!
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
My adopted grandfather got me interested in coins. The 1913 was always his favorite. When I had the Hawaii 5-O coin, he drove over to Spokane from Seattle just to see it.
Wow! That is an amazing coin! Congratulations!
Congratulations @tradedollarnut! How far along are you in your box of 20 ultra rarities quest?
I know it's still a secret. For fun: I'll guess you grabbed the Brasher Doubloon or 1854-S NGC XF 45 $5.
For posterity... so far:
That looks almost as good as something Dan would make,,,,,,,
That is what we need ,,,,, a 1913/2013 V-Nickel,,,,,,
i think i get it now.
the things one must do...
how do 100 coins fit in 20 slots?
Wasn't any room to step forward.

My guess is he's gunning for the top 20/most expensive available coins (J-1776 $20 is in very tight hands) from the PCGS Million Dollar Club set.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Congratulations. As someone who has only scratched the surface of this hobby, and besides it being an ultra-rarity, I like the look of this coin.
How much does the overall look of the coin matter when it is so rare / finest known? If this had some spots or unattractive toning, but was still the finest graded ultra rare 1913 v-nickel, would that lessen it any?

I was kidding. I figured it was going to be the rarities.
Lemme get my 1913 Buffalo and get a V letter punch. Wham! 1913 V nickel.
I’m not sure I’d want to own a fugly ultra rarity. Eye appeal still matters, though you can’t be quite as picky.
The uniform surfaces and overall superb eye appeal put this example heads and shoulders above the others. Congratulations!
DING!
Pete
That's about as close as I would get.
I don't lose any sleep over it.

The Eliasberg coin is a gem and congrats to Bruce for picking it up again! It’s a dream coin.

"to reclaim an exquisite collection of Liberty Nickels"
i recall legend has a 1913 V in the sold archives. it was one of the first $5m coin i researched, (at the time).
that article states that they owned this previously. or am i mixing something up?
Owned it 2 times previously. Sold it in 2007 for the same price I just paid for it
With many expensive toys, one often says the two best days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. I wonder if that is true for coins like this.

@tradedollarnut.... Congratulations.... Very nice, thanks for the picture. Cheers, RickO

Amazing coin.

What a great looking coin!! Wow
I own quite a few 1913 Liberty Nickels. you did not mention that they need to be real.
For the 4th coin, the 1854-S crossed to PCGS quite a while ago if I recall.
I thought Bruce said he was the under bidder for the Doubloon. (or was it Oliver). He said it was someone "new" bought it.
I don't own one.
I don't even have a V nickel of any date... yet...

Congrats, beautiful specimen and a pretty good provenance to boot.
Is that an extra leaf on the corn?
The Eliasberg was on display at long Beach years ago and I had it all to myself for about 20 minutes before they closed the show..................I felt like it was mine briefly..................Does that count
Steve
I don’t see why not.

considering how much acceptance digital albums and the like have these days, not a bad way to enjoy these unicorns, white whales, moose, etc.
i don't recall a thread about "your dream digital album." a full us type set of all the tvs for a dream set would be neat aka hansen's actual set. lol
a good start would be "The Vicarious Everyman Set." ?
With inflation, that sounds like a good move. A good sale then, and a good buy now.
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing with us your experiences.
