Finished my Ike’s!

Finally finished my Eisenhower dollar dansco. May not be a big deal to some of you but it’s nice for me!! All from mint sets and proof sets and OGP. Got an error in there as well.

    That’s awesome 🌞

would that error be a struck through a bolt maybe?

Posted a whole thread about it a couple years ago. That was the consensus. If I ever start sending coins to PCGS (hopefully soon) I plan on sending it in.

Nice set! Love the struck thru. Ikes are an underappreciated set. I had a complete set in a dansco, now I am working on a PCGS graded set. Just need the 72 T2 and T3 and the 71 D Friendly Eagle to complete it. Getting ready to.give up and buy ATS and cross them at this point.

No don’t think so. I am more of a Kennedy collector. This was just a side project. I have danscos for pretty much all denominations I’m working on

I don't believe the 1971P and D came from mint sets or OGP. You had to pull them from circulation. Those are very nice examples.

Cut them out of the cellophane myself lol

  • Klif50Klif50 Posts: 628 ✭✭✭✭

Sorry, they were not in the 1971 or 1972 mint sets at all.

  • Klif50Klif50 Posts: 628 ✭✭✭✭

They first appeared in the 1973 mint sets.

  • scooter25scooter25 Posts: 769 ✭✭✭✭

My mistake then. They were some of the first ones I got. I guess mostly from mint sets and proof sets and ogp .

Looks like a struck thru reed fragment to me. A bolt would have dug much deeper and probably would have ruined the die as well.

is the 1972 type 2 in there? just curious (that might be a d on it as well

You've put together a very nice set! They are fun to put together. I finished mine a few years ago and haven't looked at it for a while. I think there may be a couple that could be upgrade because they came from bank rolls. Hey if you let me know what Kennedys you need I may be able to help.

I’ve got a post over on the BST forum that has the list I’m looking for. Mostly really recent stuff with the exception of a few

    Congratulations! Nicely matched set.

  • That is very nice. I have a set of Ike's but nothing to compare with this. I admire that you've gone after what you really like, that's collecting for the love of it. Really brightened my day!

It is definitely struck through a reeding fragment.

    Very cool set!
