If you could spend a leisurely afternoon with a single collector here, who would that be?

For me, it's a tough question as I admire and respect so many collectors here. In a pinch, though, I'd choose tomB as I could look at his collection and hear the stories behind each coin and walk away with one of the best experiences of my collecting life. Of course, all this is precipitated on the hopes he wouldn't mind doing so.
How about you?

TDN, picking his brain would be a honor. Now if I was sober enough to take advantage of it and retain it after flying into Vegas is anybody’s guess

Well, technically Hansen "is here" as he's posted on occasion, so he'd be my first choice as long as I got to look through all his holdings.
I concur about TomB based on his taste in coins as well as his persona, and I'd love to see Robec's toner collection in person as well. Others with superb collections would be Mr. Eureka, Boiler78, CharlotteDude, Cardinal, Lance K, DrDDM, and several others I'm surely forgetting.
I think CaptHenway would be my choice. I think we would have a very interesting conversation. Although he would be more interesting than me in all probability.
@CaptHenway to talk coins in general;
@cmerlo1 or @koynekwest or @JRocco to talk cherrypicking;
@oreville to sit speechless while staring at his collection.

Way to many here with similar collecting interests to decide on one but since you asked I'd like to visit ricko so I could check out his collection and verify that none of his coins are toned.
But not until Spring so I could bring my fishing gear and hit some of those Catskill trout streams.

Well, I’m thinking of a couple, but there’s a good chance coin talk would be only a minor part of the conversation.
My pick would have to be Ron. (@Koynekwest).
Really..............there are WAY to many to pick, you know.
Pete
My pick would be Cardinal. Hope I could see some of the collection.
Longacre would be another excellent choice.
He’s not here much anymore but I’d go metal detecting with LordM on an old plantation.
CladKing or wonder coin.

The feeling is mutual! I could also tell lots of fun stories about working the ANACS table at shows.
My choice would be @ricko as I believe after coin talk we could talk about other common interests if we tire of coin talk.
And perhaps @keets would stop by

Bad transactions with : nobody to date
Too many to mention them all, but CaptHenway would be up there because he probably personally graded some of the coins in my ANACS photo type set.
Too many to chose from.
I would enjoy spending an evening with Roy Langbord and over dinner and drinks discuss the 10 1933 Double Eagles that were the subject of the extended litigation.
Cameonut, Modcrewman and others who collect in the same niche area I do.
Keets, Crazyhoundog, Skyman, NorCal Jack, Mad Marty, Russ, Lucy Bob are also on the list.
Many of the dealers are on my list, along with many of the collectors who swim in the deepest end of the hobby pool and who particpate on the forums.
Also, many of the persons whose talents include coin photography, plus many of the persons who research and write about various aspect of the hobby.
Finally many of the persons who are responsible for creating and operating the TPGs that are so central to the hobby of kings.
I agree

Challenging to select just one, everyone here is so awesome 😏
I'm imagining a venn diagram of : collections I'd never get a chance to view in hand otherwise, (prominent among those impressive ones already mentioned and others not yet) assuming we'd sit down and view them) ....
..other collectors with interests similar to mine with whom to discuss detailed historical and techical nuances of the coins..
..those who are actually currently manufacturing coins and other PM collectors' objects and spend the day learning and making a bunch of custom ones..
and folks that would be a riot to hang out with and chat about life or do some of the amazing non coin hobbies some of you are into
There's quite a bit of overlap, too many to name names unless we're voting and maybe it happens someday

Hey Sean, like cmerlo said the feeling is mutual. One problem might be one leisurely afternoon might not be enough time.
I don’t know many members here well, so I’d have to go with Dan Carr. It would be very interesting to tour his mint.
@CoinJunkie just so we could arm wrestle
Come on man. Paradisefound
Martin
Ambro51.. I really liked the direction he was going with the coins he started making
Seated Quarter discussion with Roadrunner.
I second @Paradisefound, lol. That would be a vacation!
Either Hansen or TDN. I'd love to see even their "bad" coins!
Off the top of my head and neither one of them are here anymore....
quarternut and mrhalfdime (probably my two favorites)
Both of them sure did know there stuff and I always made sure to read every word of every one of their posts. I didn't even collect their series!
To make me even more insecure about my collection... boiler and cardinal.
I could never compete with either one of them even in my dreams.

I couldn't pick just one. I would enjoy conversations with Mfeld, Billjones, skyman, TomB, DWlange and I could go on.

Roger Cohen, and I got to do that, years ago.
@CaptHenway would be interesting among those who are living.
I have a feeling that if @1630Boston and I got together, coins might be only a small part of the conversation. Same thing happened when @keets and I met for an afternoon. That is OK though...Coins may bring people together, but there is much more to life and a friendship. Cheers, RickO
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a good number of forumites over the years...sadly, a few are no longer with us.
Mfeld for sure I’d still like to meet and pick his brains.
Walkerfan, Erwindoc, and jesbroken are all on my list to meet someday, among others.
@crazyhounddog
Actually, I was going to say BillJones. Now there is another good reason, he could tell us everything that Cohen told him about Breen.
A lot of good choices here. I would probably choose the Captain in lieu of being able to pick a banned member, who is a good friend of mine.

Colonel Jessup above all. Intricate knowledge of numismatics with historical perspective.

I would like to spend time conversing with “The King of IKE Dollars”
The subject never came up.
For those who are unfamiliar with the story, Roger Cohen and Walter Breen have a very public argument that spilled over into the pages of "Penny-Wise" the Early American Coppers club magazine for many months in the 1990s. Breen made some snide comments about some of the things Roger wrote in his half Cent book, and Roger took great exception to it. The only time Roger mentioned Breen to me was at an EAC convention. He compared Breen to one of the hookers on Time Square.
All of this started after Breen published his "Giant Red Book" on half cents. That book prompted criticism from many quarters, in addition to the Breen - Cohen feud.
Ditto!
I have had many interesting and pleasant discussions with Ken

So many to choose from! I feel like Burgess Meredith in the Twilight Zone.
If I got to pick another member it would be

@asheland for silver, the food and the mystery bridge box
and
@Bochiman , we are total opposites politically, east coast west coast, but having had conversations, I think we could get along
never mind.....................just too many to choose from

Like many here, I will list 2:
- boiler78 for his outstanding gold.
- saintguru to learn the fine nuances of grading $20 Saints.
Many of the members would be fun to meet.
My YouTube Channel
HomeRunHall for sure.
He's still technically a forum member. You know he has some great stories from way back in the "old days" .
Mfeld. I'd probably learn something.
I knew it would happen.
I'd want to spend the afternoon with the best coin imaging folks on these boards, with a copy stand, camera body and a few different lenses and lighting setups, and shoot away........
Best, SH
Since the OP specified a single collector; I'd have to say TDN, for the obvious reason AND for the scotch...
