Looks like a flapper from the 20’s.
Well, the coin was designed in the ‘teens.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
rendering a profile in die steel isn't the easiest thing to do and doesn't always yield great results. with that said, I find most of the representations on our coins to be pleasant.
By far the most natural, realistic and attractive rendering of Miss Liberty is on the Indian $10 gold coin with the Peace Dollar coming in as a close second.

I’m a plastic surgeon, and even the logo of our Aesthetic Society, Queen Nefertiti, isn’t very attractive in profile
At least the early Liberty’s were well endowed!
Despite the fact that's it's made of gold, I have never found the lady on the $5 Liberty coin to be attractive. Not having cheekbones has always looked odd to me.

That's actually hilarious
That is inspired by the Egyptian queen Nefertiti who was viewed as a great beauty. I guess tastes do change over time.

The concept of feminine beauty has evolved over time. The strong and healthy look was in when strong and healthy was a major necessity for procreation and survival. i.e., The Kardashian girls would not have been a good fit.

Actually it looks like me when I was about 12 years old and wearing a funny " girl hat." At least that was the rap my buddies saddled me with at the time. Try to live that one down....... You don't.
Even Michelangelo couldn’t get the women right- this is the Medici tomb in Florence- they used male models for their female sculptures- clearly Michelangelo had not seen many (if any) real breasts- the Pope must have kept him locked up in the Sistine Chapel

I had no idea that silicone had been invented at that time period.

Michelangelo wasn't interested in breasts. His orientation and desire to be a good Catholic was the conflict that expressed itself in much of his work.

Yes it was and I can’t help but think the flapper girls from the time kinda reflects that.

The best two examples so far. Very nice too👍 But, the lady on the copper looks kinda masculine.
I’ve always thought the prettiest lady Liberty is on the draped bust dollars.

I think Lady Liberty is beautiful

I wonder what our portraits would look like if we all ended up engraved on coins

I wouldn’t look good LOL
I'm sure she's beautiful on the inside.

I agree with the people that said the peace dollar has a beautiful lady liberty.
Let me know if you'd like to have the view from a bit farther.
That's actually hilarious

The sculptor of that bust gave her a rhinoplasty, a chin implant and made her Caucasian.
Funny, Ive always thought the same things about these depictions of liberty. I'll admit the ones with cleavage are slightly better.

I find the kardashians pretty disgusting LOL

Male rockstars for the gals - they use money, too!
Picky, picky, picky.
You probably wouldn't like these, either:
And don't forget, it's harder to make something look like a real person with a single color...
And back in 400BC, they might not have thought these gals were very beautiful:
Are you hoping that we adopt something like this?
I don't think the goal is really about the "beauty".
It is more about national symbols of other things.

Not scary.....intriguing
