I wish I knew about pcgs when I started collecting in 1986 at the age of 15. I bought a silver eagle for $8.00 then, a lot of flea market 90% in 2x2s, and common proof and mint sets. If I would have put that energy into slabs at time.... but I grew from there.

Our host is doing a pretty good job of staying on top of this hobby, IMO. Thanks and appreciate CU very much. Peace Roy

Congrats! What a great story and Home Run of a business!

The Story of the Origin of PCGS

We decided to form a company. Our initial funding was $100,000. Bruce, JD, Gordy, Sil, and Steve each took 10% for $10,000 and Van and I took 50% for $50,000. It obviously turned out to be the best investment any of us ever made... God bless America. We formed a company and Bruce Amspacher came up with the name, Professional Coin Grading Service.

Happy 35th! Hopefully the new owners will not mess with the great team you have in place! Thanks for all that you do!🥳🥳🥳

Question. Who owned the first coin graded by PCGS? I assume HRH.

Who was the first collector to submit and get a coin graded? What was the coin and what did it grade?

These are great. I love the 35th Anniversary ones too!

Of course it would be cool to have a Gold Shield like on the 30th Anniversary medals.

  • SwampboySwampboy Posts: 13,051 ✭✭✭✭✭

Any idea of the mintage of that medal @Zoins
