Today's EB Canceled

Oh man, I feel rotten! I made up an excuse and canceled my meeting with my boss, the CEO, at Noon today so I could partake in the early bird email festivities! Then the EB was canceled on ME!

First the silver melodrama that was for not and now this! The first week of February 2021 feels like 2020 all over again

Why would anyone assume that everyone knows the shorthand?

I guess the thread was meant for those who are in the club and know the secret handshake.

I like coins just as much as the next guy around here but it is a good idea to prioritize things. Last Sunday afternoon I was all set to do a little last second auction sniping when I was interrupted by two Hydrantettes who were in desperate need. Their bicycle tires needed air. The tire inflation job morphed into chain adjustment and lubrication, seat height adjustment, and handle bar tightening. I missed out on the registry set upgrade. No problem. Watching those girls peddle and coast up and down the hills on the ranch was way better than any old coin. There will always be another coin. But the kids grow up too fast and you can never get that back. Priorities, man. Priorities.

When I was 17 I went to go pick my dad up at a train station a decent way away. A 1795 flowing hair half dollar was closing on eBay, and I would have been home in time to snipe it, but the train was badly delayed. I gave my mom instructions to snipe, but it didn't work. I still don't have a 1795 flowing hair half dollar. I also don't talk to my parents.

And yes, I'm just kidding. I talk to them regularly. I do still wish I got the coin, but oh well, such is life. I most definitely don't hold it against my parents, although they're clearly to blame. Also Amtrak. And Amtrak is SO easy to blame.

Tuesday is my day in the OR. I’ve actually considered delaying cases to catch the email...... but haven’t done it yet. I’ve complained to John about this handicap and he expressed appropriate sympathy. He didn’t agree to send it to me a day early though, LOL.

Interrupting a surgery to refresh the email is probably out of the question...... yes, definitely out of the question..... wait, unless...., no, definitely out of the question.

I know, I know. Thank you though! No jeopardy was made to my career. Now I need to figure out an appropriate excuse for Noon, Tuesday 2/9 because that’s when the meeting was rescheduled!! UGGH That is coin kharma right there!
