1831 Bust Half Dime, LM5, Newman, NGC AU58 CAC to PCGS AU58
1853-O Seated Half Dime, NGC AU58 CAC to PCGS AU58
1837 Bust Quarter B-2 NGC XF45 to PCGS XF40
1892-O Barber Quarter, NGC AU58 CAC to PCGS AU58

Happy I kept my 58's, but hoping for a + in at least 1, now off to CAC for rebeaning/consideration for the 37. Expected a downgrade on the 37 BQ, glad they did not reject it as cleaned...

So if a coin crosses at grade, does CAC automatically approve of it/re-sticker? It was my understanding that once the holder changes it is a 'new' coin to CAC and not eligible for re-sticker service.

I am not sure how automatic it is, but I take high res images of each side of the slab, and send them the NGC certs and those images in the NGC slab, and every time they have rebeaned. They say the reconsider them, and I assume that if they decided they made a mistake previously, the would correct it. But so far, all rebeaned at same grade.

I agree. This has been my experience, most same grade, a few don't, a few slight upgrades. So within the series I collect, they have been pretty consistent between NGC and PCGS.

The '31 sat in a manilla envelope for a half century and developed a rich patina. That is what was so amazing about the Newman sale of the Colonel Green coins by Heritage a few years back. Most of them had this amazing skin that was a product of a long storage by C. Green. I have one other from that group, probably my favorite half dollar ever:

On the 3 CAC coins I Crossed to PCGS I taped the NGC label returned with the PCGS submission to the front of the new holder and all of them beaned.

I just had a customer vent to me the other day. PCGS AU50 27-S quarter to an NGC 40.
Sounds to me like NGC graded it by details not recognizing the typical weakness of 27-S's and ignored the luster.

Nice crosses SH ... but I don't suspect it's too hard for you, as you always seem yo have nice coins and you have a good eye.

Interesting tidbit about the CAC resubmission. Makes mental note.

jom it is a die marriage I didn't have, B2, - also keep in mind, it is probably not going to CAC, when I got it, I could see in hand that is was the type that frequently comes with a note from JA 'lightly cleaned long ago' for a NOT CAC decision, We will know in about a month......... Nevertheless if I find another one of higher grade in CAC, you will be the first in line for it.
