In my experience, all of these are scarce. I can't say I've seen more than a dozen Dahlonega gold coins in person in over 30 years of collecting.

I believe it is. This particular coin is a misattributed medium D. The same strike through appears on a number of other examples. I actually started a thread not too long ago discussing the strike through. Interesting to think what could have caused it:
