Taking solace in my loss for the Brasher Doubloon
If, like me, your high bid was comfortably below the high bid (or the juice, or the shipping cost, or the cost of the cardboard box in which it's shipped), may I offer this other American Beauty created by Ephraim Brasher: The Brasher Cann.
Though it has been in my possession for a few years now, I had yet to "christen" the cann--until the night of the election this past November.
The toast I used on that occasion:
**I know full well I am merely the custodian of this treasure while it is in my care, and that one day it will pass from my hands. My charge is to protect this fragile and beautiful work of art that has survived 240+ years of hardship and struggle, against the odds, and to pass it to its next custodian having done no harm. In the years that it has been in my care, I’ve scarcely held it and never drank from it.
Tonight I drink a toast to America from this cann. To the greatest country that has ever been, to its history, and its future. May she and this beautiful artifact last in perpetuity.**

Don’t drop it.
I really admire that. And I think your words were chosen carefully. They really apply to whichever side of the political spectrum one may be.

Beautiful silver tankard. I agree with you, as I sip a fruity, hazy IPA.

Thank you Lord for another beautiful day!!!
If you don't mind, I'll join you and others in your toast to the greatest country on the planet. Regardless of affiliation, conflict, or otherwise, we always seem to pull through and come together. And though, you may be sipping and savoring from one of the best Ale's and Cann's available. I'll be chugging this cheaply made Mexican margarita from the bottle with authority and making my way back to fridge momentarily. Cheers!

there are some who can afford to bid on the Brasher Doubloon
there are some who can afford a nice silver tankard with their IPA
there are some who can sit back and just enjoy a nice IPA in a chilled glass
then there is me who cannot afford to do any of the above

Meister Brau. I knew him well.
I didn't set up my gofundme in time
My dad drank that stuff back in the 1980s. I would steal it from his fridge. LOL

I had a friend who drank Goebel Beer. It was $3.25 a 12-pack.
We called them 'Crowd-Pleasers' as was referred to on the label. LOL

I was a member of the MBDA when I was a senior in HS!
We're the MBDA and we'd just like to say we get drunk every night and will always stay tight.
And yes, we'd like to say, we be willing to stay....at....your.....house!
My libation of choice would be a nice Cabernet..... @Weiss...Nice silver tankard...but you know the one I covet. Cheers, RickO
Wonder how many colonials fell drunk off their horse after knocking a few down from that mug!

Started out with Schaefer, when splurging could get a micelob or maybe lowenbrau.
Slightly better today, Treehouse or Industrial Arts IPA’s , with some German Hefeweizen in between.
That is so cool — really glad you actually used it, too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful mug.
I once enjoyed quaffing San Francisco Steam beer. Dems was da days. Better days ahead. Peace Roy

Oh yes! Treehouse is about 45 minutes from my home. Nothing better than a fresh batch of King Julius. Haze is a close 2nd.

Looks like I am starting things off tonight with a Great Dane Crop Circle Wheat Hefeweizen. Love those Weiss Beers. Next will be a Chocolate Bock from Vintage Brewing. Doing a Madison tour from my fridge.
