Bought 300 junk silver dimes.. looking thru the dimes ,found a 1942 Mercury dime with a lot of luster ..took it to my B&M dealer.. he said it is 1942/41 Mercury Dime .. Au 58 - Ms60.. He said maybe a collector mixed the dime with junk silver..
He is sending it off to Pcgs ,no charge ,as long as he gets to make an offer when dime is graded

Um, yeah, it’s mine. He can have PCGS drop-ship it to me after slabbing.

NO, NO, It's mine I tell you. Been looking for it since the 60's. LMAO !!! Seriously, nice find.
Wow!! Nice find.... Hope it works out and the dealer gives you a good finders fee.... I have been looking for one for a long time...Special year for me. Cheers, RickO
So that's where it went, I can describe it to prove its mine.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Why do collectors always want to split the AU58/low MS grades? It either has circulation rub on the high points or it doesn't, indicated by the cartwheel luster. Can anyone explain to me so I understand better? thx
Wow nice find!

Mine was stolen 3 years ago 😈
I'm missing mine now and probably will be missing mine tomorrow, etc. Now that is a lucky way to start the year. Congrats. PICS?

Congrats and also nice of the dealer.
Nice going !
Back during the boom, it wasn't unusual to buy a thousand or two Mercs during the day. That's the variety that kept me on the floor, sorting out the 42's before bagging up the junk. It was normal to catch dinner at midnight or one. I didn't find the overdate then, but I did find a few in subsequent years......
That's totally mine. Just dm me for my address and you can send it to me. I'll give you 10c for it . But seriously great find!!
Thanks, now I will have to go through the bag of dimes I just bought.
Nice
Details cleaned.
Maybe it was part of the great American coin hunt?
I have never tossed one of those into circulation but I am guilty of adding other early 1900's coins to my change deposit to get people interested.
