I got smoked on all my bids. Everything seemed to go 2x-3x previous auction results, even if they were for the same coin and only a year or two old. I was getting Newman vibes
On the plus side, I guess I can revalue what I already have. But I think this auction was a bit of an anomaly where a bunch of things coincided to bring out very high prices.
Congrats on the wins, everyone. Brian, that 1/2 belonged in your set and i'm glad it's now a part of it.
Dan - that was quite the final price on the 1826 Mexico 8R in 66+. Congrats on an amazing addition. Early Republic Mexico just doesn't come that nice. Also, I'm not sure if you noticed, it seems to be a variety not documented in Resplandores:
That looks like the die sinker punched in 22G at first and had to fill/repunch a 0 over the second 2. "20/22 Granos" sounds like a nice variety
Edited to add that it also looks like a 6/5 overdate:

Overdate ? Hope so....thanks for pointing out the variety and possible overdate 😊
I manage money. I earn money. I save money . I give away money. I collect money. I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
A very rare issue, and specially charming sharing similar motifs to the Volcano Pesos.
I wanted to bid live so had to stay awake until the early hours of the morning given the time-lag difference between California and Germany....not easy for me, but it was definitely worth it!
Much wilder price swings on the top tier material. My average, middle-of-the-road 8 Reales group just closed and i think all were about 20-30% higher than what I figured retail value would be. Overall, happy with my first consignment.
Only one outlier in my group. Two people must have really wanted to add this over-assayer variety:

Supposedly common date

I successfully bid on this coin:

I also saw that the Chile Volcano Peso 1820 did not sell as it did not meet the reserve:

An excepcional coin in every way which unfortunately did not find a buyer.
Both will fit your collection very nice! Both of these coins had your calling card all over them!

CONGRATS! Amazing coin.
Chris called some of the Eldorado collection in English and Spanish. There were many Colombian dealers on the floor bidding.

@pruebas completely unexpected. Yet kept on using "apostar" (to bet) for bidding, confusing.
Maybe he knows something we don’t?
Based on some of the pricing in that sale it may have been more akin to betting

Well whoever the winners were, they don’t post here. It’s a shame. I was hoping to compete for some dupes!
