..luster...

...they said my post was “confusing”...:):)...when coin is properly stored, luster developed itself into nice crusty preservation of the coin and gives “confidence” that will not change over the time...and if looks nice, uncirculated then it gets high grade...coins straight out of sets might even look nice and not even have any scratches, still get low grade just because of lacking of confidence that will not change over the time and become “ugly” coin with a high grade.....:):)...bottom line...it’s about PCGS integrity, coins trades and coins values...

This is even more confusing than your last post.
This sign makes more sense than this thread.
I am confused.... Well, maybe not...
Cheers, RickO
You just don't understand it because your coins don't have “confidence”.
I try to talk to my coins and encourage them in a very supportive manner, it helps them build the confidence they need to become all they can be.
We definitely needed a second thread on those two quarters
"...I know...but I have a super power..”.I can smell future 69s”...:):)" @ZNC .... If it is not a 69 now, it will not become one....Cheers, RickO
It can if we change to a 100 point scale...

You have to smell the 69s... when you're blind
"...I know...but I have a super power..”.I can smell future 69s”...:):) "
You really only need to worry if you are NOT confused...
@CoinJunkie....
Thank you, that makes it clear.... I am not confused, and that worries me...
Cheers, RickO
It'll all be clear by the 3rd or 4th thread
... or the third or fourth drink!
If you don't crimp the staples on the 2x2's there's a good chance you'll be smelling "Scratched UNC - Details"
Not sure the point here, but I will agree it's all about the luster..

Not saying irresponsible, they're your coins.
It's just that failing to crimp the staples is something you would expect from a newer collectors. I didn't expect that an experienced collector would leave the staples exposed and risk damaging his/her coins, especially when it's very easy to significantly reduce the risk. Oh well, you learn something new everyday.

Please do not treat the OP like he's an amateur.
He hates it.
I'd start by plugging in that phone.
There are none so blind as those who will not see.

It's dinnertime.
I am now confident.
I have a less crusty dime in my pocket too.
All this thread does is make me miss the fine works of BONGO BONGO.
Maybe I'm missing something but in my world view, coins don't develop luster. It's imparted at the time of striking and, at that very instant, the coin is as lustrous as it will ever be. Some coins end up with almost none (DMPLs, for instance), satiny luster from new dies, or deep, blooming luster that is often seen with older dies.
Patina, toning, corrosion, whatever you want to call it...... that can develop over time, yes. Strong toning can obscure luster. Some toning patterns seem to accentuate luster. Repeated cycles of toning and dipping can impair luster. Wear tremendously impairs luster.
But, as others have said, I'm not really sure what this thread is about.
The OP has me reaching for my trusty advisor, but he isn't reassuring:
Your 8 ball lacks confidence.
... but the luster is tremendous!
.it’s not that I never didn’t ruined coins....I did
I'm convinced! You never, didn't not do it! or wait...You did?
