1918 Lincoln Comm. half

@BLUEJAYWAY Since you asked, this is my latest commemorative half. Based on images I've located so far, I think it's an EF. Anyway I like both designs and I'm glad to add it to my collection. Your thoughts are appreciated. Btw, that holder was in a sleeve "Historic Coins of the US". Don't know who the company is. Have a good day. Peace Roy

@ECHOES Abe's face speaks to me. Kinda pensive IMO. Your coin is really nice and a relatively low mintage. Peace Roy

I put one in my mother's birth year set, my only commem. One of my favorite designs coincidentally, lots of character.
I have three of this issue, one in PCGS XF40, it was at one time a Pop 1, (XF-40)

@ECHOES comparing mine to your XF, is the grade close?

My XF is in my SDB, I need to go there visit with my coins...
I am not versed in grading from pictures, hopefully someone
here can chime in as to the grade of your Lincoln...

This Lincoln is probably XF-AU. I don't know how to grade them except in a general sense, and with circulated commemoratives, I don't really care much about the grade anyway.
@Barberian I know, I'm glad to add this coin to my collection. It's just something I am interested in. Thanks for opening the pics up. Peace Roy

Very nice coin... Always liked this one... especially the reverse. Cheers, RickO
What a beauty. I love the circulated cameo (or CircCam™) look on early commemorative half dollars. At one time I tried putting together a type set, most of the pre-Depression issues can be found in circulated condition (thanks to said depression), but later issues that have been handled but not mishandled are really tough to find.

@seanq I agree with your observation. Designers Morgan and Sinnock showed their chops. I love the rev motto banner. I think I'm gonna move it into a Lighthouse quickslab to better protect and show it. Have a good day. Peace Roy

Thanks! I own four of them now. I have been working on a set of commemorative types in circulated condition as well.
Lincolns are great for their tendency to tone nicely.
The wear on Lincoln reminds me of how he aged In photos during the Civil War

@pocketpiececommems: that must be your P01 example?
Mine is still raw, and not as choice as yours, but I'd be curious to know your opinion as to grade:
I also have a more "conventional" example:
By wear I'd grade yours Good, but unfortunately that rim dent at K-1 will probably prevent it from getting graded. Would make a terrific pocket piece, I have a Sesqui half that had deep scratches when I bought it 15 years ago that have almost completely worn off the coin as I've carried it around.

@seanq - thanks. My own grade would be AG03, since the rims are worn into the lettering almost all the way around. But, it may be borderline! In any case, there's probably not a big increase in price between G04 and AG03
