1958-D Double Die

Does anyone know the real value of a 1958-D double Die Obverse Cent. I am not sure but I may one one from a original roll. Looking for some guidance. Tks.

The one you're looking for is not a 1958-D, but the Philadelphia version. And if you have one, you will not be in doubt.

Someone just a couple weeks ago asked the same question for the same date/mint and denomination. Same result: what you’re undoubtedly seeing is machine doubling.

It is essentially impossible to find the 1958-P doubled die cent in rolls. The only known examples all came from a single source: the estate of a former Mint employee.

A 1958-D DDO does exist. It might be worth a buck or two to someone who cares about minor varieties.

There are known DDO 1958-D Lincoln cents.

There is no way to give you a value without knowing the condition of the coin, however it is not a highly sought after DDO so I doubt that buyer pool is very strong for one.

I have several 58D DDO’s. If mint state I believe a 63 would go for about 20-30 bucks.
Now the 58 DDO is a biggie. That is a very rare coin.

Some coins are just plain "Interesting"

Sorry, had my mint marks messed up.

  • Is it the 1958D or the no mint mark DDO that's most valuable?
