"I'll drink to that"...
Lol. Personally, I don't drink. My dealer friend was giving out these bottles of wine to certain friends. Awesome idea! This owner of the wine company is an actual coin collector. That makes sense, right? I understand that there are many different dates/mintmarks on various bottles. Lol. Have any of you guys ever hear of these? Thanks.

I saw bottles of wine like yours with coins on them 20 years ago in a Specs liquor store in Houston, Texas. I bought a few. I was shopping for the women employees. They liked to get blasted after a hard days work at the convention center. I don't remember what the coin was that was glued to the bottles (probably something fake) but I do remember a couple of gals with bloodshot eyes and a diminished work performance on the showroom floor. Must have been good stuff.
Would be interesting if the coin's date was the date of the wine's production.

Ok, everyone to the liquor store to search for rare varieties!

very cool @JoeyCoins
@JoeyCoins We all know what Joey did when he saw that 1942 date ... he immediately took a much closer look!!

I’m called Winesteven because my other serious hobby in addition to my true love of coin collecting is fine wine. Here’s some detail:
1. Orin Swift, a very fine winery (not the grade “VF”, lol) has produced this wine since 2005. Their current release is from the 2018 vintage.
2. The “Release Price” (suggested retail price) is $130. For wine that is mainly made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in Napa Valley, that is using about 50% NEW French Oak barrels to age the wine (for about 15 months), that is highly rated by the top rating organizations (see below), this is an excellent price, even forgetting the authentic Mercury Dimes!!!
3. Robert Parker’s “The Wine Advocate” rated the 2015 vintage of this wine 95+ points (to me, that’s equivalent to a grade of 65+ on a 100 + year old Type coin). Wine Spectator Magazine rated the 2015 vintage of this wine 91 points (kind of like a coin grade of 63). To me, these two organizations are like NGC and PCGS. I give them more respect than other wine rating publications.
4. Both of the above ratings say the 2015 vintage is ready to drink now, as well as over the next few years, with no problem, as long as it’s stored properly (like our coins also need to be stored properly).
For those that seek this wine out, enjoy! If you REALLY want to buy it, please search, but if having difficulty, you can buy the current vintage (2018) directly from the Orin Swift winery IF they are permitted to ship to your state. You can contact the winery and ask them where in your state are retailers who may have the 2015 vintage. If you’re stuck, but have truly made a good effort to find the 2015 vintage, PM me and I can get you a lead on contacting a retailer that can legally ship it to you in your state. If you can purchase other vintages, but first want to know the ratings, PM me, as I have access to all ratings of all vintages from the above two publications of this Orin Swift Mercury Head wine.

Funny you would bring that up. My dealer friend did, in fact, check it out for himself. Lol
One never knows, correct? Esp. the reverse. The MM can actually have the variety/s on some of these.

A few years ago, Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankford, KY. made bottles of Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey with a buffalo nickel glued to the bottle. I bought mine at the distillery. Don't know if those bottles were available elsewhere.
