Odd “S” stamped into a Kennedy Half dollar...

Has anyone seen this before? Doesn’t seem like the easiest thing to accomplish and there is a faint 2nd “S” like it was done twice

If you have a hammer and a letter punch it is very easy to do.
I have a set of punches. Send me some half dollars and tell me what letter you want and I'll strike them for you.
Just someone fooling around with a letter punch as others have said. No numismatic value or interest.

Probably flattened the obverse portrait a little too I'm guessing.
I have seen letters and numbers that were hand stamped on coins. But never on a Kennedy half dollar. I don't know what to make of it. Quite odd.
San Francisco is really getting sloppy with their mintmark.
Counterstamped coins are fairly common. The obverse (heads) side of the coin will likely have a "bulge" from the moved metal.
For the seasoned collectors ... it's the latest variety discovered and in the Cherrypicker's Guide. It's a "superbird" Kennedy half!
