LT, Neion Deion, Page, Lott
I’m just curious if anyone could ever leave LT out of any greatest Defensive player discussion and be of sound mind.
The answer to that question is a resounding no
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
LT, Lott, Deion, White
I also like Page, Deacon Jones, and Bruce Smith, really tough to choose.
I'm not sure about Deion. Certainly could cover anyone but
was kind of afraid to tackle. Isn't that a pretty big handicap for greatest ever?
Fair point but his Special Teams play was exceptional to go along with shutting down one side of a field on the opposing offense
I always loved Reggie White's ability to use the hump move and just toss blockers to the side. I played defensive line in my youth football days and used this move quite a few times. I can still remember the rush I got from it. They were helpless against me, yep, they were helpless against D squared!
Jack Youngblood
Merlin Olsen
Fred Dryer
Deacon Jones
And Aaron Donald will need a separate monument just for himself because 20 years from now nobody else will matter in comparison.
Heck, Deacon Jones would use a move called the "headslap", and he would just slap a blocker in the head as hard as he could to get them out of the way. They had to outlaw the move eventually.

The first one is the most amazing. Larry Allen is widely considered to have been possibly the strongest person to have played pro football (700 pound bench press, could dunk at 340 pounds). Reggie just tossed him out of the way. Reggie was the most disruptive force I ever saw on the d line had to deal with frequent double teams and sometimes triple teams.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
@craig44, I felt sorry for Cris Carter, Reggie just threw him.
@doubledragon Double D, I was curious as to when you were going to post in these threads. I was unaware of you taking a day off so glad to see you sir 👍👍🍻
It's been a busy Saturday so far, I've been running some errands today, but I finally made it here. 🖒🖒🍻
Man, Ronnie Lott was a vicious hitter, I used to love watching him deliver a bone crushing hit. Loved it!
When you're hit by Ronnie Lott....
"Fearsome Foursome". I remember them well.
Honorable mention. Butkus. Not the dog in Rocky, but the Chicago Bear. Minn. Vikings: "Purple People Eaters".
Jack Lambert
Mean Joe Greene
LT
Rod Woodson
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
Ignore list -Basebal21
You should also start a coaches' Mount Rushmore.
I'll vote on that one
Nolan Cromwell way before Dryer as should be Isaiah Robertson. If you're gonna poke fun, play it straight!
edit: Not to mention Kevin Greene
Vikings with Page, Eller, Marshall and Larson was the best front four ever.
All four made the pro bowl in 1969.
Jack Youngblood deserves an HM at least.
Edit: He's my all-time favorite NFL player.
Lee Roy Selmon and Jack Ham too. If Selmon had played for the Cowboys or Raiders he'd be the legend he deserved to be. Ask any lineman who played against him Unstoppable. The only lineman comparable is Reggie White. Well, and maybe Bruce Smith...
Very difficult - almost need one Mount for each (DL, LB, DB)
and maybe Merlin Olson, Joe Green and Alan Page. These guys were ALL awesome!
I can't believe we had a Nolan Cromwell mention. Small town Kansas boy. Excellent career.
I think Bobby Bell might possibly be the best all-around football player of all time because of how versatile he could be, but I'm not sure he belongs on this list.
Bobby was a STUD!
I am surprised I havent heard the name Mike Singletary mentioned.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Lawrence Taylor
Alan Page
Mel Blount
Deacon Jones

HOF SIGNED FOOTBALL RCS
I think he was just such a force that it’s hard ignore. Anyone who had the good fortune to see him play in his prime knows the deal.
Game wrecker.

Like single handily destroyed game plans
can you imagine what he could have been had he been 100% committed to football?
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Perhaps the Doc Gooden of the NFL?
Yea it’s unbelievable how well LT played with all the extra curricular activities going on in his personal life. Could you even imagine if he had a regime like Brady? Not sure it’s even possible to be better than he was as it is
If you havent read his book, you should Perk. LT was nuts. he would be out all night doing drugs and girls and roll into practice and dominate. the guy was a machine. a machine who could somehow run on no sleep.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Yea I read some hilarious story about him showing up to a team meeting with handcuffs on because his hoes lost a key or something 😂😂😂
