I've seen this one before. Let me summarize: He has some sort of medal or buckle which he is trying to say is a confederate coin which requires some Da vinci-code-level of deciphering to read the date and denomination (which don't actually exist because it is not a coin).
Not wanting to grab a torch and join the mob....I went to the OPs site and read it. Interesting, A lot of verbiage, seemingly enough facts to back up a relic. .....lay down the pitchfork and torch for a moment and read. .....please post an analysis of the write up.
I visited the site when I saw the post on the MD forum.....Interesting... I asked for better pictures.... Some of it made sense, much of it needs substantiation. Cheers, RickO

He spammed another forum with incoherent nonsense a few weeks ago. IMO, it may be best not to engage with the OP, based on his responses over there. Here is a link to that circus, if interested.

Look at what he's posted in the one day of his membership here but prior to this thread. Nothing but spam to look at his website.

So I looked up "bracteate" on the interwebs and it is an interesting read. But those items are from the Medieval and Middle Ages periods in Europe. No relation to the CSA.
There were some prominent McGuires who served with the Confederate military. One was in the cavalry. I could see this as a tag on his saddle or equipment, for example.

? Your post makes no sense as written. Please explain.
Looking at the OP's profile it's obvious he's here just to spam the forum.

Five separate threads in different forum categories in one day, all on this same "coin" that is also referred to as a "certificate" and a "seal".
He really wants people to go to his website.
Funny how he can set up a whole website dedicated to this amazing find, but he can't manage to post a picture here.

This thread becomes more annoying by the minute.
Thx for ending the mystery.
It's not a "coin" or a "certificate" or a "seal" as described.
Looks like some kind of ID or maker's tag.
Thanks for posting a picture of this piece of metal. Now I can ignore and move on with my life.

That's a single eagle, so probably not worth as much.
Wow. So he not only opened five threads on his find, but he spammed other unrelated threads.
This.
Gonna put him on “ignore”....son!

But it's all just speculation.
Well it is 2020 so, why not? By that I mean it’s been a very, very strange year.
