It is a nice coin, and gold.... However, at today's gold prices it would mess up my incredible gold stack profits.... Not a lot, but I like keeping it clean. The few gold pieces I have sold, have enabled my entire stacks to be pure profit. Cheers, RickO

Way too expensive. Commemoratives are always a crap shoot.
It's funny you mention that, there is no where on the Mint Website where it uses the word commemorative.
Well, they certainly aren't circulating...
Likely doesn't meet mint's definition because of its 24k content, but its sole purpose is to specifically commemorate an event.
Because of it's $25 denomination and 24k content, will likely show up in PCGS price guide/pop report as gold bullion, same as 2017 24k $100 Liberty High Relief.
Aren't these coins selling for huge presale premiums on ebay?

It's unclear if those people realize which coin they are buying. A number of listings are priced and described in such a way as to appear designed to trick people into thinking it's the recently released coin.
At least one of them was not sold but rather relisted.

Interesting explosion over the weekend. I hadn't checked since Friday and those all sold in the last 48 hours.
The mintage is not low for a commem but the premium is high. Below is a true auction closing in a few hours. It'll be interesting to see where the real price levels out. 7 or 8 completed listings on eBay are an early guide (if the buyer and seller are legit).
With no offers on BST I'm not laying out $1340 for 1/2 ounce of gold.

Why would anyone not be in? The clearly described ones are selling for $2000-$2500?
You can't really judge by those presale prices. There aren't that many of them. You can't know how confused the buyers are. And a lot of presale activity ends up getting canceled by one party or the other when the true market asserts itself.
I'll pass. The silver will be cheaper after a while, and although the gold is a lower mintage piece, I think too many people still have a bad taste in their mouths over the privy marked pieces. If you're set on buying these, I think I'd flip for a profit now and roll the dice on a cheaper aftermarket later. JMHO
The mint needs to get their sht together on these releases. So many times entering CC info then error causes it all to disappear. Finally get it to work and the coin is sold out.
Id like to see how these do. this seems to be carryover from the other release. not as much demand for this one online-----lets see ebay sales.....if there are buyers, ok----but if not, lots of returns coming

They're one way for collectors and stackers to get started. I'm a proponent of enrichment and enlightenment.

Does it have a privy mark 🤪

Kind of generic imo, like a Franklin Mint offering. I may pick one up, undecided.
I really do like the design so I will either buy one from the Mint or wait and hope that it goes down in price in a 69 slab.
Undecided.
Still undecided. 1300 might be a bit steep

Looks that way. Why? Are people confusing them w the AGE?
More than twice the issue price (in most cases) isn't huge?

Gosh, I think people paying up for these now are going to be bitterly disappointed. This isn't anything like the WWII ASE/AGE.
Neither the theme nor design, nor the maximum mintages are compelling.
Flippers will likely have a field day, but not at the prices shown on the eBay link above.

VanHalen... ended at $2,275.00! Yeah, I think ebay buyers are getting confused with the recent privy marked coins.
I think I changed my mind. Gold down over $80 did it for me.

Gold not available.
Interesting that with so many people saying they have no interest in this coin, the Mint site was just as bad a Friday, if not worse.
had a medal in the bag, went back to check on goldie- cant access anything now. Wonder if the medal will still be there?
It appears my gold order finally went through but I also had another in my bag that I had to delete. Stupid refresh button!
Never have I gone through so much trouble to spend so much money.
