You could buy it and see if it gets confiscated as a genuine coin or if it gets confiscated as a counterfeit.

Maybe send them a note to send it to PCGS in France. If they slab it, you’ll buy it.

I would surmise that anything worth 4 figures plus would require certification by a top 3 certification company to be taken seriously.
