Very nice.... Any back story on this coin? Or just a good coin show purchase? Cheers, RickO
Was offered to me by a friend in Baltimore about 5 or so years ago...was in a scuffed up PCGS holder, but had to have it!
Colonial check, Error no magnifying glass needed check, nicely centered check, never seen one before check
Checked all the boxes....
Given the level of wear that coin probably remained in circulation for 10-15 years before some very early 1800's numismatist finally decided it was something special and put it away. Can you imagine an error like that lasting more than a few days in circulation today!
I DON'T KNOW. SORRY.
Funny how many more replies I get when I post something with post mint damage:(
It’s a neat coin for sure but the subject title may play a role in the reply count.

R u sure it is a MINT-error and not a PMD (Purposely Made Device
I think it if it is a "mint Error" it must have been a "purposely knowingly and tolerated " made error.?
what year did you say it was manually made with hand made and hand operated presses?
Very cool!!
