@bearcave said: @PerryHall You are correct! I didn't see it when I bought it and sent it to PCGS.
I don't think that scratch is a big deal consider the heavily worn condition of your coin. Also, it doesn't appear to be a fresh shiny scratch that really stands out.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
Small as it was it didn't stand out to me either, but I need glasses! And it was old scratch anyway. But I guess its a scratch.
I had a "No Cents" in the same order and I thought I would get this one graded at the same time, just for _____ and grins! But it didn't work out that way.
Yep. I only tried once to get it slabbed. I bought this and a Morgan in old dingy capitol holders at a local show. The Morgan looked very similar with blue-ish edge toning. They passed the Morgan and bagged the Peace as AT. I probably should have tried again, instead I sold it as it was for a nice profit. It was quite beautiful in hand.
This is one case where I do not care at all for the tru-view images - my photo's are a better representation of what it looked like.

Can we also guess why the coin was sent in for grading in the first place? Must have been a PO01 attempt?

The 55/55 looks cleaned & recolored.
On the 55 DD Lincoln, the luster looks a bit off, so I'll guess Altered Surfaces or Cleaned.

Rub? What rub!
A recessed date might have saved the date.........
Look how that helped Standing Libs.

Environmental damage?
Wasn't that the Saint that recently came back "scratched"?
Corroded?
(Altered Surfaces?)
ED.
Environmental damage. I thought it was typical album toning
The '55 DDO also has gouges on Lincoln's head....Cheers, RickO
Nope, it came back scratched
Hmmmm, on the reverse under the 2nd T in TWENTY and under ICA in AMERICA? I see them now that I'm looking.
I think the P in PCGS stands for "picky".
I send them in when I believe they'll make the grade or to test my own eyes. My eyes fail me, often enough. OBVIOUSLY.
Environmental damage?

Ah. Well it’s an attractive example regardless. 👍

Ha! If that is the one I recall seeing posted here before, they about ran out of room to list it all on the label.
Holed is one.
Room for plenty of more guesses available to be right on that one. Hard to get the right combination of each that fit.
