$600 to spend

Hi All,
I received 3 x $200 gift cards.
I'm wondering what I should buy in coins ?
I'm NOT sure if I can combine them for one $600 purchase, if so, then I'd like to buy a gold piece, but NOT sure which.
I see silver is falling slowly, so silver may NOT be in the picture.
However, anything is possible.
Suggestions would be great to hear.
Thanks,
Chris

Nice certified Quarter Eagle.
Are you referring to Ebay gift cards or some other kind?
Someone recently noted that Ebay gift cards are not valid on coins.

If you want something gold for gold's sake, get a 1/4 oz Eagle. You should have a few bucks left over.
If you want something gold and with some US numismatic history, look for a certified $5 Eagle or Liberty. You'll be able to spend it all, depending on what you pick.
If you want something with US numismatic history, the options are much, much broader.
Good luck, whatever you do.

Assuming I can buy anything coins and can’t combine them... for my interest I would pick something nice in a series I like but don’t buy often. That would be mercs, walkers, barber dimes, US Philippine, that kind of thing.
If I could combine them I would definitely go gold with a quarter eagle or even a nice AU half eagle.
Go with your gut. You know what you like and probably have an idea what you’d get. That’s what you should get.
NO, NOT Ebay gift cards.
They're virtual cards (Mastercard) from Corporate. I work for a Hotel chain & received them from promotions.
I caved in & spent some on a nice 1940 Proof Mercury dime with a cameo-ish quality. It's NOT labelled cameo, but it looks frosty on the obverse & reverse.
Still, I am open to suggestions.
Thanks,
Chris
A nice sub set of cool mercs would be sorta cool
I wouldn’t say that silver is falling slowly. It lost about 25% in a week and some change...that’s pretty darn fast
How much do you have left? Maybe add a proof Walker to go with your Merc? I’ve got one proof Merc and love it.
I'm thinking maybe a Proof Mercury dime set.
It's only 6 coins. The breaker will be 1936.
Again, it's free money (the $600) so I can NOT go wrong.
I maybe use it to buy the 1940, 1941, & 1942. Maybe even the 1939.
Then actually buy the 1936, 1937 & 1938.
Cool.

Yeah, I can NOT combine the cards together.
So, I'm limited to $200 for each purchase.
I've used part of 1 with $60 left & still have the other 2. The leftover money I'll have to find something else, most likely some silver halves. I'm partial to Walking Liberties.
So, I bought the 1940.
Hope to find a nice 1941 & 1942 or 1938 or 1939.
Then, I have to buy the others to complete the set.
Thanks all.
Chris
They’ve all gotten a lot cheaper since I bought mine. Might be a good time to work on the set.
Good luck!
Thanks.
Coin collecting is fun.
The search for the right coin is even more fun.

If you could have combined them, I would have recommended a $5 Gold Indian... since they cannot, then go for some nice ASE's...price is dropping, good time to buy. Cheers, RickO
I like the certified quarter eagle recommendation.
A nice MS64 could be had for that price.
