My Buffalo Nickel Dansco Set (Pic HEAVY)

I finished what I consider to be a complete Buffalo Nickel set about 2 or so years ago. Just recently did I get around to photographing each individual coin. The 1918-D 8/7 and the 1937-D 3-legger are filled with skull nickels (by John Hughey) along with the other empty slots at the end. I really enjoyed putting this set together, and there is, of course, always room for upgrades. Enjoy the show!

Nice that you were able to put together a set that has all readable dates I know that it is a little harder for some of the early ones to have dates that you can read!! Great Job! keep up the good work and now you can start to "Upgrade"
That's an outstanding circ set (+ a couple of MS) of Buffs! I put a similar set together nearly 50 years ago. Mine, however, was in a Whitman bookshelf album.
That was the goal from the beginning- for every coin to have a full date and mint mark. I wasn't too concerned about full horns or anything else. I've already got my eye on a 1937 upgrade.

Outstanding job! I love albums. Always a great accomplishment to complete one.
Wholesome
Nice collection. Congrats.
Very nice well matched set. Shows that you were patient in acquiring. Nice that
as you get close to the end of the series they improve in quality. Congratulations.

I like your thought about "what I consider to be a complete ... set." I've thought about that regarding other types -- an album may include expensive hard-to-find varieties that the collector may be satisfied without. But then, how to deal with the "holes"?! Your approach to this is worth noting.
My strategy is about collecting what I intend to keep, not investing in what I plan to sell.
Thats awesome! Always nice to look thru a complete Dansco. My buffalo dansco has been about half full for a few years now. Lol

Nice-looking set and I like the way you displayed the individual coins.
Very, very nice album of Buffs..... Really great to fill one like that. Thanks for the excellent pictures as well. Cheers, RickO
That is quite an accomplishment. Very cool to see the whole set individual like that too!

Fantastic set of Buffs...and so refreshing to see them in an album. Old school cool!
Great accomplishment!

This is exactly the word that sprang to mind as I viewed this set, you did a really nice job matching the coins together with just the right amount of wear and character. Great job.

I've never been a big fan of Buffalos but the skull varieties kicked it up a notch for me.
Nice set!

Nice set! Congrats on completing it. Nice touch adding the carved nickels. Heck, there are a few extra ports on page two, so Dansco should really just label one of them "Hobo Nickel." After all, what Buffalo nickel collection is complete without at least one carved coin?

really sweet set. Dansco did make its album without openings for 8/7d and 37d 3 legger before this version came out.
you might want to look for that version of their album which you can find still on eBay.
nice job!

The 1937 has been upgraded. There's even some nice machine doubling on this one.
Larger images: Not sure why the obverse image isn't as large as the reverse. They're the same size. Hmmm...
