I saw the comment in a response in another thread.

('m thinking that I should give up on any site that allows me to post.

Does PCGS have to get a committee together to vote on whether my comment is allowed?

The strange part is that it has to do with whether FDX is now insuring gold coins.

I wonder if FDX needs to clear the post?

It will usually do that if you link to a site they have not sanctioned or one that has asked them not to have links to for whatever reason.

Makes sense but in this case....

    There was no link.

Only other thing I’ve seen in those situations is a trigger word that flagged the post.

It did That to me one time when I tried to confirm someone’s Overton variety for some reason.

I’ve had it happen when I posted just strings of numbers (i.e. a list of grades). Try adding a recognizably English sentence at the top of the post.

Also, I have never had one of those auto blocked posts later get approved and posted, so don’t hold your breath.

I remember the old software would automatically not allow a link to marketwatch news because of a certain four letters in the word.

You must have triggered the automatic spam filter.

That happens to me when I post a comment several times (or edit a post several times) within a short period of time with tags to members and/or images included in the comment. Sometimes it also happens when I try to post an image with no text.

In any case, your comment will never be approved or appear (seems to be a glitch in the program). You can wait and try to post again after some time has passed, or you can try again now, but with tags and images removed from your post. If you keep trying to post the same message that has been already blocked, the spam filter will keep blocking it.

If you put a lot of time into writing a comment, it pays to copy it before you post, just in case the spam filter deletes it.

Did you use one of the secret trigger words, "If, And, or But?"

  • jmlanzafjmlanzaf Posts: 34,558 ✭✭✭✭✭

Sometimes it just does it if the thread has changed while you were typing. It means nothing. It also NEVER gets "approved" and posted. It is lost forever.

I have not had that happen to me....I guess since I use common terms and rarely post links, I stay out of the danger zone. Cheers, RickO

With 75,713 responses that’s hard to believe, Ricko! Because you are like cool hand Luke. You just haven’t spent any time in the box.
