Been gone awhile, but now I'm back. Show a colorful 1952 coin

UtahCoinUtahCoin Posts: 5,346 ✭✭✭✭✭

Some of you may have noticed that I disappeared for the last 18 months or so. To say that I've has a "full plate" would be an understatement. Currently I have a daughter in grad school at Florida State University (Go Seminoles). Another finishing her senior year at, and prior to Law School at the University of Texas (Hook 'em horns). And lastly one more daughter at BYU (Go Cougs) who is getting married next month to a 6'5" 290lbs defensive end (I think he has something like 3 ounces of body fat).

My wife and I have finally retired and relocated to Saint George, UT. Last February the wife and I headed off to Europe for what was to be a lengthy vacation. With the Covid thing you can guess how the trip went. As an FYI, if you ever get stuck in southern Spain, take a ferry to Morocco and catch a flight out of Casablanca.

A while back I started having more than the usual amount of back pain. Turns out it's something called Multiple Myeloma of the Spine. It's being treated and we'll have to wait and see how that goes.

One last thing, my avatar of the wide eyed 3 year old girl is my youngest daughter. She's the one getting married next month. She has an amazing story, born 2 1/2 months premature and told of all the obstacles she would face. As it turned out, she was a 3 year varsity Pole Vaulter, and has just signed a modeling contract. (see the pic below)

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

Welcome back ... indeed a busy time for your family and sounds like "wonderful" adventures in between.

Congratulations to your daughter and her soon to be husband, and on her modeling contract.

I remember you from the old days (I took a longer hiatus than you).

Hope the prognosis on your back is positive, and can be cured / mitigated.

My daughter’s wedding cost me $30,000. Yes, I’m a fool. Hope you were wiser.

    Glad you’re back!

I'm in Austin. Get in touch when you come to Austin to visit your other daughter at UT Law School (great law school, BTW! Congrats to her).

(PS: I always loved your avatar. Not surprised she grew up looking that good!)

Welcome back - good to see you posting again. I hope everything comes out well. I don't have anything contemporary to share, so hopefully something dialed back a century and of dirty gold coloration will be okay.

Welcome back, you’ve been missed! Congratulations, as you and your wife should be so very proud of the great job you both did in raising a wonderful family! Good luck with your back.

You asked for a colorful coin from 1952. Here’s one with blue and green at the top. 😆

Welcome back, UtahCoin. Sorry for your back trouble, I understand your pain. Although, with beautiful daughters(as they all are) all with burgeoning educations and one entering marriage I am sure you feel blessed, as you should be. Congratulations on all of your blessings.
