It stopped taking bids at 15k so with the 20 to 23 percent buyers premium ended over 18k.
I think it was a board members but not 100% sure. Another example is coming up in January and that one is from someone active in the wrestling card world.
If indeed it was who I think it was they killed it on this card.
Very nice to see another wrestling card do so well.
These were tremendous results. Just about every card listed did great.
Some question the Cena sale and I know the under bidder. He was shocked someone else was willing to go that high but they did.
Many have commented on various platforms about being disappointed they lost on a few you posted. I have self submitted a copy of each in the photo so obviously I was thrilled to see these results.
The signed Hogan is ending tonight. Going to be very interesting to see how that plays out.
Now on many marquee cards you have to deal with fractional ownership bidders and this is a card one might bid on. It should breach the prior sale and very hard to predict a final price.
I think many people (including myself) might view this particular card as a consolation prize since the 1987 Sting Wonderama test issue card with the same card number and photo is so hard to come by.
So I have another question. I have some ‘85 WWF cards I was thinking about submitting. I noticed that some cards have 1 star under the number and others have 2 stars under the card number. Is there any significance with either variety?

I should have been more clear. I am speaking of the ‘85 Topps wwf stickers. Thanks.
depending on the set, stars usually denote which sheet if it were are larger set or which side of the sheet the card/sticker came from if a smaller set w 2 of the same cards on 1 sheet.
With prices going absolutely through the roof I pretty much regret selling just about every card I sold. The card i think I regret the most is the 1981 Popy Hogan. If I had it day I would list for 100k and prob not accept less than 50k. It’s a true rarity. I don’t think another one has even sold since mine that went for 2400. Ooops. I’m curious what other people would guesstimate that it would go for now.
@Dpeck100 what are your thoughts on 1986 Monty, seems like they are being missed? overlooked? I always likes mini type cards like 75 topps and the modern mini's. I feel like these are cool and maybe undervalued. But maybe the Mini thing is why? But the Tyson Panini is similar sized so I don't know.
The 86 set is doing well. They are a bootleg set and made in Holland for distribution in Saudi Arabia. They stole the photos from US magazines and there are loads of errors in the set. Early on many were submitted to PSA cutting the chads off and in reality they should have the little chad as you tear them apart out of the pack. PSA labels them hand cut now and I believe the reason is they realize so many of the graded copies were indeed hand cut. Just about everything wrestling has exploded so I say go for it.

i completely agree. one thing dpeck didnt hit on is how terrible it was to pull cards from this set. back in the day, i prolly "attempted" to rip 10+ boxes of these looking for flair cards. i would say 95% of the "packs" were a mix of about 10 cards total of the set. to this day it is STILL the worst collated product i have ever witnessed. not only that and if my memory serves me correctly, the "packs" werent even sealed. they were more like envelopes. and now that i think about them being called "monte gum", im not sure if they even had gum in them.
long story short, i would have to agree that w/ wrestling cards exploding & the overall lack of supply for cards in general from these key years mixed w/ the solid, bright design, overall scarcity and decent selection of photographs that they are well over due for a raise and completely underrated. also, as you hit on the mini factor, it's only 1 of 3 or 4 sets that i can think of w/ the others being nearly impossible to find these days.
side note: if you go looking for ric flair cards, make sure you use "rick" in your searches as well. most of his cards in this set are printed w/ that spelling, thus psa labels as such.

What is the grade on the Andre? BGS 9?
It is a BGS 9.5.

Damn.... was outbid on the Lesnar and didnt see the Orton. Lots of interesting auctions ended last Sunday.
Still surprised with the Batista PSA 10 result.
A 1988 Sting Wonderama NWA Superstars #17 went for a pretty good price yesterday:

This is going to be a barn burner.
