Huh? Then, how come I keep getting destroyed in Heritage Auctions?
there are always exceptions, go ahead and pick my post apart if you need to, but I think you both understand what I was saying.
From what I've seen, 6-7 figures seems soft. 4 to 5 figures seems strong for the right pieces. Haven't seen too much difference in the 1-3 figure range.
Truly amazing coins. I found the 1860 half dime interesting for the special PCGS insert. And while not an error collector, I’ve never seen anything like the 1862 cent obverse die cap.
There are now over 1,000 Patterns listed on the Heritage website for upcoming sales through August, 2021 (and counting). If you're interested in Patterns, now's the time. It will be interesting to see how well they do in today's environment.

Not sure about Heritage but $4m coins that sell for $2m and $200k coins that sell for $110k were in the Stack’s Pogue auction.
What coins are you buying?
We’re not out of the woods yet so the sales will be interesting.

I agree that all collections will be broken up eventually, even the Smithsonian. Even strong hands get old and life always trumps a hobby.
I personally am more interested in the Legend sale. Better focus with all time hobby highlights trumps bigger (really nice) set
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
That's an interesting thought.
Imagine someone collecting US coins the way we collect coins from the Roman Empire?
Imagine collecting coins at the height of the Roman Empire and thinking of someone collecting your coins 2000 years later?
The 1868 and 1872 also have the Simpson label.
Is that what you meant?

Yes, I'm surprised. And Heritage already suggested the Judd-15 for me, even though it is scheduled for the Feb. 2021 Long Beach sale.
Who am I to argue? Well, I might not have the funds...

Here's another Barber half dollar that's not often seen!
