What is your preferred proof set holder?

ChrisH821ChrisH821 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've found that I much prefer the way proof sets look in white Capital holders, seems the norm are the black ones. The white ones hide smudges and fingerprints and I think the coins just look better against the white background.
Not really sure what they were thinking with that transparent red...
The clear Whitman ones aren't too bad, they have a smaller footprint and are thinner but they can be a pain to get open, not that one should need to very often.

    Light blue Capital Holder with gold embossed letters and numbers spelling out, for example, "1950 U.S. Proof Set"

    I've got a black and a red. I like the red one, actually. I think they all present nicely. Black is probably my favorite.

    I like the transparant red and blue holders. After that, the white or black depends upon the set. I like the looks of this really nice 1950 set in this black holder.

    Here is a 1953 set in a red holder.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I have the transparent red one. But it has the aluminum or metallic screws.

    I prefer white. I have a Jefferson Nickel Proof in white and a complete Buffalo Nickel in white. Haven't taken the Buffalo Nickel coins out of the Littleton Album yet. I think white shows better, especially with Nickels.

    Capitol holders are nice....never had a color preference, and have not put any proof sets in them. Just have a couple that I purchased at coin shows... I think one is war nickels...the other is packed away, not sure what it has in it. Cheers, RickO

    Thanks for the input, I don't think I've seen the blue holders. I made this topic because I was a little bored and going through my proof sets.
    @Twobitcollector I like that presentation
