They added a tab right above the paypal tab which is probably what you were hitting instead of the paypal tab. Did it myself a time or two.

Having a big issue w/ managed payments program.

Apparently, money is supposed to be avail 24 hours after delivery. Ive fedex’d $12.4k worth of cards that arrived to 3 different folks.

On sold listing(s) each one says “your money is now available”. However, its certainly not in my bank account and I have zero credit when I try to purchase something.

Ive put in a call, sat on hold for about 15 mins before opting in for the “call back” option which was estimated at roughly 2 hours. This was about 6 hours ago.

    Fun, fun.

Not too terribly worried, but certainly not thrilled w/ the headaches.

There's a whole other thread about it somewhere on here, but all of you with these eBay problems, it's completely foreign to me. I'm an eBay concierge member, and any issue I have I can connect with them immediately, and my problem is resolved usually before the conversation with them is over.

Just received this email from Ebay:

    <<< Hi Stephen,
We sent your payout of $103.13 on Aug 11, 2020. It will take 3-4 business days to reach your bank account. For more details please visit the selling section of My eBay. >>>

This was on a sale last Friday for $112.00

So the Ebay cut was around 9.2 percent. So i'm pleased about that.

However I'm not pleased about the "3-4 business days" notice, two working days after the sale. I thought i had read that the money was going to be in my bank account in a few business days, not a notice a few business days later that the money would be in there in 3-4 business days? I'll have to read their information about this again, perhaps i misconstrued something.

In any event, i'll just have to take it and like it, like the good little Ebay sheep seller that i am.

will we be expected to ship before money is in account and cleared? if so, thats not happening

Well, that's your choice. But if you're a "top rated" seller, that rating would quickly go out the window, and you may begin receiving negs from buyers for slow delivery.

I remember my first beer, too. But, yea. Go right ahead, call them and ask anything in regards to a managed payment. That's when you get the "hold on one sec, lemme transfer you". That's where the fun begins.

I have a concierge as well. Day #2 wait on a returned call.

Shipping with Managed Payments is glitchy as heck. The window to select your $ method for shipping seems to pop up completely random. My 1st label was smooth sailing and the 2nd one was a glitchy mess. These were done at different times too...not one right after another. OMG. Let the games begin with this nightmare. Payout dates are also completely random it seems for everyone. I just selected once a week on Tuesdays for payouts. No way I could keep track on a daily basis. Where do we see the percentage we are paying????????????????

^ all this. Not only that I've tried to log in on two different computers using two different browsers. 4 different formats. everything is hidden and jumbled. can find some of it on one, some on the other. it's a nightmare. still blaming pwcc for all this crap. why'd they have to go get all shady?!?

Finally got that call back. They are in shambles. The new round of sellers implemented into the program has glitched with the existing ones. The proposed fix is roughly April 2021 until it is supposed to be running smoothly. Good news is, it sounds like if you havent been forced into joining, you have a stay of execution while they figure it all out. Bad news for existing folks is having to surf around to find all the details as they are working daily to fix the problem and things will be constantly shuffled. Monthly invoices we still be available, but it's pretty much bend over until that day.

    Long story short on payouts:

All sales over $4.99 are held.

Funds are held until item is shipped AND confirmed delivered.

Payments are then initiated, so long as buyer doesnt claim damage w/i that 48hrs, 2 BUSINESS days after.

Once payments have been initiated & depending on your bank, could take 3-4 more BUSINESS days until it hits your bank.

In total and accounting for weekends, average projected time from the day of sale until money is actually received is 17-21 calendar days.

Good news, in case anyone is still reading, is that after a so-called probationary period, money will get deposited immediately HOWEVER the details about how long that takes and the criteria associated with it are kept under tight raps, per the Supervisor Kirk. He said, and I believe him, that he doesnt even know what triggers that algorithm.

  • blurryfaceblurryface Posts: 5,136 ✭✭✭✭✭

I just wish I could hold billions of dollars for 17-21 days, every day of the year. It's too late for math but at 2% interest, I might be able to afford some Luka.

As a buyer, are we still able to use PayPal if we want to? Regardless of whether the seller is in the MP program?

  • blurryfaceblurryface Posts: 5,136 ✭✭✭✭✭

For now. But I'm sure the long term plan is to force the sellers into managed payments in segments. Once that's done, start twisting the buyer's arms.

    Yep.

  • I'm not sure the "fees are taken out" there is an invoice section with the $ amt. due for your fee costs that you can schedule or due one time payments. I enrolled months ago yet they haven't been able to "flip me over" to the new system yet just saying they will notify me when I have been switched over. As a buyer, yes you can still select paypal. The biggest difference is that funds are not available immediately like the old days of paypal but there is this drawn out process where the funds get deposited into your checking account several days later--that sucks

So basically, eBay gets to collect interest on all these funds held until delivered... if this includes international shipments, that would be brutal. F#$% FeeBay.

Fees are taken out on each transaction. There’s no more monthly or one time payments needed/required.

They stalled on flipping me too w/ repeated “we’ll let you know when it starts” emails and headers.

For what it's worth and if anyone cares, ebay is really taking 11%. They calculate their percentage off the post sales tax figure.

I don't think Ebay held it, to my understanding.

The order mentioned was sold on Friday, shipped on Friday, and the tracking number entered on to the Ebay website on Friday.

Normally I'm not always this efficient (LOL), but i just wanted to see how Ebay managed payments would be under a best case scenario. So right now, from this experience, best case scenario is a six day wait for my money.

Always difficult to see how this will all play out. But i guess if someone needs some cash rather quickly, then local pawn shops are going to be busier than ever before. There was of course already a wait involved in getting cash from the process of selling on Ebay. But now there is an extra week or possibly much more wait to get your money after the sale. For some folks out there, this could mean the difference in not getting a rent or car payment in on time. Pawn Stars is certainly most happy about this.

    Steve,

Glad yours is only 6 day. Don't want to get to personal but Is that your average sale price? I'm just trying to figure out if wait times are tiered?

    ie

anything under $5 is no hold

anything under $500 is simply two days to initiate, then few biz days to reach bank.

anything over $500 but under $1000 waits to be scanned in and moving, then two days to process.

anything $1000+ has to be delivered,

At this point, i am just tooling around w/ the system to see if, anything, triggers quicker payouts. But even with sending fedex overnight and having buyer leave posi feedback doesnt even trigger a quicker payout, as I was told via ebay rep. it would. Luckily I have cheap fedex rates thru main biz so no real angst there, of course if someone was told this and depended on this cash on a larger sale and paid for overnight services & insurance only to be told it has zero relevance and your payment will still be two weeks out, I can see where they would be royally pissed.

So who knows what or why some folks get paid in 2 days, some 7 days & others 17-21 days. I honestly think that Ebay and it's reps dont even know at this point. Currently waiting for the "continuation" of the previous phone call from earlier in the week after Capt. Kirk said he would look into it. Nothing seems too promising other than I have finally started getting payments into my bank account....from sales dating back 2-3 weeks ago.

So I got THAT going for me. Which is nice.

We sent your payout of $1,863.34 on Aug 12, 2020. It will take 3-4 business days to reach your bank account. For more details please visit the selling section of My eBay.

I received the above message yesterday on Wednesday for some sales from Monday which included two sales of $600+

I'll let ya know when the money hits my bank.

Money hit the bank yesterday on Thursday.

So it picked up a day from the first one.

See that's not too bad at all. Do you have a crazy high ebay rating, like 10000+? This particular account for me is sitting at 2300ish.

In my opinion, the payouts may be based somewhat on the rating, but likely much more important is the number or percentage of late shipments, returns, refunds, PayPal chargebacks, etc, and a variety of other factors including the category of the product, etc.

I think Ebay at this point has their payment algorithm in place which could change a little bit over time, but probably this is basically it. So in my view whatever it is, i have to bend over for the Ebay paddle and each time politely say, "Thank you sir, may i have another."

I would think that too, but ive got the power seller rating, had this particular account open for 7+ years, allow for 14 day returns (which ebay loves, sellers who actually accept returns) and up to this point pretty much bent over for them as required. The only thing I can think of is you must cross a certain criteria rating-wise. Im sitting at 2300. Everyone else I talk to is under 3000 as well and having the same pay out time frame, which is why I presume your rating has to be over 5k perhaps.

    Afternoon,

So it appears that you can and will be part of E-Bays managed payments without any interaction with E-Bay. I say this because as mentioned before I have never received any requests or anything from E-bay to get my Bank info as mentioned here or any other communication period about this.

So last night I go to Re-List with the Bulk re-list tool about 25 of my Unsold items. About 1/2 of them came up with the Little Yield symbol and when I clicked on it it stated that " Funds from this item, If Sold, may not be available to the Seller until some time frame has expired (Time Frame Not Specified)" My words, was not paying close attention at the time.

So is this what I think it is, a Backdoor way of making you participate? I listed about another 100 auctions as well and received no Notifications on any of them. BTW, my Rating is over 9000. But I have lousy Shipping rating right now cause I forgot 3 packages in my Car for 3 days!

    Thanks

    YeeHah!

did you sign up previously to pay for items thru ebay payment system over the past year or so? apparently there was fine print there if you linked your bank account vs a credit/debit card. been conversing w/ another individual that said the same thing and that's how they got him. but yea. that's "time frame not specified" thing is fun, huh. still running 17 days for me. the real pain is not being able to buy w/ these funds as you normally would with paypal. im managing the delay, but you dont even have the option to let the funds stay put, like having a paypal balance to use to pay.

I say when ebay sends you the monthly invoice to pay for what you sold, we should tell them "time frame not specified" on when they will get paid. see how they like it.

you'll never get the chance. they take their 11% fees on each sale automatically now.

I have a few listings on ebay left. I can't add new listings until I sign up for Managed Payments, which I am not inclined to do right now. I've been looking to slow down the selling anyways so this is great opportunity for me to experiment with new selling channels.

I'll admit that my knowledge of managed payments is limited to this board and the ecommercebytes, but it does seem to me that there are a few ways a seller could get scammed. Keep up the topic!

In answer to your question, that's the interesting part of the equation. My Bank Account is not Known by E-Bay, never has, always made my Monthly Invoice Payments as One Time Payment from Paypal, specifically so E-Bay wouldn't have my Bank info. I have been tied to Paypal for years, but never anything to E-Bay.
So when my auctions end in a week on those 12 or so listings that had the warning....After the "Time Frame not Specified" expires, Where do my proceeds go? Not My Bank, Paypal? Limbo? Back to E-Bay?

This sounds like its going to be Fun Fun Fun!!!!

ebay percentages advertised, quoted and displayed are 11%. what they dont tell you is that your are charged that 11% on the final realized price after sales tax. actual percentage seems to be around the 11.5-12% range depending on each states individual sales tax rate. pretty big hit on higher dollar items.

i was previously told, and didnt believe it, that items sold over the $3750 threshold would only incur 2.75% fee. this definitely does not seem to be the case.

waiting for another round of call backs.

My account switched over to managed payments on the 8th. I’m only getting charged on the item price and not the after tax amount. No issues so far. I usually get funds in my account around 4 business days after the paid sale.

I mail my auction sales in a PWE, which doesn't require delivery confirmation. Will this affect me getting money to my bank account from e-Bay?
I got the dreaded e-mail from e-Bay yesterday, but didn't read too much of it. I guess I better soon.
