The first one is definitely a counterfeit. The second one appears to be real with an added mintmark. The coin is well worn yet the mintmark is quite sharp.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
1st - fake
2nd - coin itself looks legit but looks added (discoloration around it, and the shadow is too high).

I generally agree but not every raw key date coin is a fake. The chances of getting a fake is higher on some venues such as eBay versus buying from a professional coin dealer. Caveat emptor.

You seem to say that a lot. In some cases, that reason is that the coin is counterfeit or has problems.
In many others, however, it’s merely because (for perfectly benign reasons) the coin hasn’t been submitted for grading. Coins in the latter category are submitted for grading in large quantities, just about every day.

BAD
The first one is a no doubt counterfeit. I'm not sure about the second one.
I knew that number one was a dead on counterfeit, but just wanted a second opinion. On the second on I didnt think the mintmark looked good.
HAPPY COLLECTING
Your thinking is correct!

Bogus I'll pass on both
fake, & added MM
BHNC #203
First one is fake and the second an added mintmark but a real good job.
a.k.a "The BUFFINATOR"
Agree with the consensus, fake, added mm. I guess it's easier to add the mm than to polish away the evidence...or does it just show better with age?
Acetone should remove the S on the second coin if it was glued on.
