Well it’s definitely cool. Would think $500 for the coolest factor. I think most errors like this are priced just like art...worth a cent to someone and maybe 10 million to another 😅
Thx but NFS. Not until my heirs take ownership some day.
Here is the reverse, but it tends to confuse people as the date on the obverse is 2016 but the understrike on the reverse is 2015. I guess it was a slow motion error that took a long time to create.

Wow, two different dates, just amazing please, give your heirs my number.
Cost me 5 cents. I pulled it out of a shotgun roll of new nickels. So, I have no reinvestment to recoup.
It is in plastic from ATS only due to some confusing insx on our host's invoice that I was unable to get clarified at the time.
It needed a professional scrubbing to remove a heavy layer of grease that no doubt was the cause of it getting stuck in a bin or elsewhere long enough to bridge two striking years. The invoice didn't allow me to select conservation and error grading. So, the other guys got to do this one.

Wow, a double date flip over over strike!
Amazing.
How often does that happen???
I have tried to figure or out in my head. I assume it is a billions to one chance.

I agree the chances have to be very small. That's an awesome find!

Did you get a PhotoVision photo for it?
If that's what they call it then yes. I got some photos emailed to me.
I still have a few unopened rolls from the box this one came out of, but I doubt there is any chance if there being another one in there.
@Zoins said: @Realone I like yours a lot because it has the illusion of the reverse being struck second on both sides and the words ONE CENT are strong.
Agree. @Realone, if I was interested in these types I would choose your example over the one sold on Heritage. Consequently, I think it is worth "more."

Send that to PCGS.
Right now I will offer you $1500.
That can't be a flip over double strike.
Technically that's probably correct.
It didn't flip over, it went through the minting process twice.

Calling @ErrorsOnCoins !
Calling....
Mine's bigger.

When I found mine I did some research and very generally I think it might be worth a few hundred to several hundred dollars.
I have no idea as to value but that is the kind of error I like. No magnifying glass needed.
@Realone .... Where did you find that one?? Certainly not in your typical collecting realm. Cheers, RickO

Sweet !!!
Wow, that wheatie is superb. What's the odds on a double flip over strike and centered to boot! Peace Roy

This slabbed one in higher grade but less dramatic in strike went for $675 at Heritage:

Curiously, it is the same year. 1945

I am not an error coin guy but that is way cool. No idea on price but to the right collector I would say a good sized pile of cash!
depends on who you sell it too...
Nice coin.
$500
Can you show a reverse photo?
Is that coin for sale, PM if so.
Thx but NFS. Not until my heirs take ownership some day.

Agree. With these sorts of coins I think eye appeal is enormously important. Your cent is at least as appealing as the one at Heritage or more so.
@JBK
Awesome coin. And the sentimental value of finding it exceeds any offer!
(Although @ErrorsOnCoins put up a really good one!)
Did it straight grade after the conservation?

Dunno but that is major cool!
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
Yeah, graded straight up MS66, which surprised me with all the extra chatter at the rim from taking the ride through the mint twice.
PCGS?
My Offer is now $2K for PCGS.
The LOL is because it ain't forsale!
EVERYTHING has a price. I suspect @ErrorsOnCoins knows this.

That can't be a flip over double strike.
Technically that's probably correct.
It didn't flip over, it went through the minting process twice.
Not always a reasonable one though.
Sometimes, if it's not life-changing money, it just doesn't matter.
They flipped the dies between strikes!
Plus, in my case, it cost essentially nothing so I don't see it as investment that I need to recoup or profit from.
If I had paid real money for it and had the chance to make a huge profit then the thought might cross my mind.
Or perhaps you have your eye on a two thousand dollar coin that you really want and now you have the opportunity to trade for that coin via cash.
Hmmm. Good point.
Maybe I could sell it and use the money to buy a super cool one of a kind once in a lifetime error.
Looks like @Realone ’s thread has been hijacked.
"Got a flaming heart, can't get my fill"
Yea, @JBK @ErrorsOnCoins !

Yeah, sort of looks that way.
But I did start off by using my past experience to offer a broad estimate of the value of @Realone 's coin, which turned out to be roughly accurate.
