NEWP 1876 CC Trade Dollar (Grade Received)

And it's a doubled die reverse to boot! Lowballs aren't my wheelhouse, but PCGS' lowest graded for this variety is a Fair02 and I'm pretty sure that this is a little bit worse than Fair.
No clue if I should even attempt to get the spots off of the obverse, so I will defer to those who are wiser than I in this regard. I was originally planning to use it as a pocket piece to wear down the scratches, but the reverse is already almost gone as it is!

Sharp eyes! Kind of amazing that the pickups are still visible at that low a grade, but I think I can see 'em when enlarged. cool.
That is very cool! I agree with Kaz on the pups...

I think you should slab that and I would guess it would straight grade as a 1

@kaz @mbogoman Yeah, it was difficult to confirm the typical PUPs of the DDR from the seller's photo, but the berry under claw and mint-mark position gave it away.
@TPRC that's the plan eventually!
@OriginalDan @Crypto thanks
Superb find! Definitely send it in.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Sweet lowball!
Are those the remnants of chopmarks on the obverse?

Congrats on finding and saving it from the melting pot.
While I am not a fan of lowball coins, I would suggest you get that slabbed....any more wear and it will be a slug. The 'spots' on the obverse look like the remains of chop marks...Cheers, RickO
Way cool
I had the same thought Dave.
@OriginalDan @DDR @ricko
I wish they were remnants of chops! It's actually discoloration from old verdigris spots
@stealer .... Thanks for the response....Cheers, RickO
A lowball Trade $ with chopmarks in that grade would be awesome !!! Great pickup...
I abhor lowball coins but, if there is money to be made, I am all for it. Congrats on having a good eye and good luck with the submission. I would imagine that it would get the poor 01.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Update on this:
Our host called it a 76P PO1 (at least it straight graded!)...you can see the variety clear as day in the TrueView.

Back to the grading room, I guess.
You can see the cc clear as day in your one photo but not the tv. Still a cool coins that will make it in the right plastic eventually

That's a super strong doubled die. I have an XF but obviously it can be attributed even on a low grade coin like the one you show.
I can see the eagle's "chin whisker!"
Wow I see the CC.
