Once again, I find myself sitting around, doing nothing. My Bassett hound and me have been staring at eachother for the last twenty minutes, and I've had enough! We're sick of eachother! I guess I'll start a best rookie cards of all time thread.

I've always loved the NNOF Frank Thomas.
Double post, ignore this. I repeat, this never happened!!
Joe.
There are a few cards that are considered to be Muhammad Ali's rookie card, I'll take these two.
My favorite derelict..... he only checked into G.A .b/c he bet he could quit....
I won’t be nominating the Yaz RC here. Love the player, don’t love the look of the card.

I love the look of the Yaz rookie. The 1960 set has two of the most unique rookie looks for he and McCovey. The 1961 uses the same drawing but I think it looks so much better with the 1960 Rookie Star design.
Funny, I’m the opposite of you. I prefer the look of the 61 Yaz.
We do agree on the 1960 McCovey

I tend to prefer landscape cards - so that probably has something to do with It. That’s what makes this hobby so much fun - lots of different looks for people to collect. Even though Topps used the same headshots for the most part in 1954 to 1956 some people have strong preferences about which they like best.
Looking to BUY n332 1889 SF Hess cards and high grade cards from 19th century especially. "Once you have wrestled everything else in life is easy" Dan Gable
Since no one is talking about this guy lately I figured I would post this. I got it two years ago and I am glad I did.

The elusive 1991 Wild Card Brett Favre 1000 stripe is a mythical rookie card and the most sought after card of Brett Favre. A while back, there was a group of Brett Favre Wild Stripe cards on Ebay that included the famous 1000 stripe, and the asking price was $1,000,000 due to the fact that the 1000 stripe was in the lot. I don't know if they sold or not.
Did you see Project 2020?

Back when SGC made a case that actually was aesthetically pleasing.
I am not sure what is the best, but I love the 1948 Leaf cards. I don't have any, but I think they are kinda of scarce and have many great rookies in them.
1914 or 1915 Babe Ruth or Lou Gehrig's first card would be my votes. And I hate the Yankees.
I remember buying packs and scratching the names as a 12 year old
Bill, I loved Ray Bourque, my favorite.
