I fell in love with this coin on first sight. Firstly, it is a very rare issue. Secondly, it is really scarce. At this time it is listed on Krause as "Rare" and unpriced as such. The details are all there. Very pretty. At the time of purchase (February 2019) NGC has this one at 30 and 1 at 50.
This coin "finished" off my silver denomination set of Argentinian surfaces. I say "Finished" in that a few upgrades are possible but the set is pretty damn nice as is. Here is the 4R:

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
My small collection of Santiago, Chile mint 4 reales.
As those familiar with the Santiago mint issue will know, issues struck under Carlos III are far scarcer than those struck by his successor Carlos IV and Fernando VII.
The 1790 4R is from the Virrey Amat Collection auctioned by Ponterio in the early 90's. It is a very nice coin for the this scarce type.

A few of mine.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
