I'm kinda done with NGC fatty slabs for gold. They're nice but I like the rims on coins. I hate how shadows fall on them so I'm stuck viewing the coin upside down or on a digital device just to enjoy the thing.
Especially small coins, even with a good light and a loupe. It's like they're great for brilliantly lit rooms and outside but that's not how I chill and go through my collection.
(Don't get me wrong; flipping through a photo Gallery is much better than making a trip to the bank).
Some slabs are also good at hiding rim problems and I almost had a very expensive problem last night. I'm not good enough at this yet. It's why I pay grading companies but somehow stuff like that ends up in straight grade slabs.

Just picked it up this morning, should be here on Monday. Unfortunately it's corroded, I'd really like to find one that will straight grade and isn't incredibly overpriced.
Some sweet gold in this thread Here's an old friend of mine that I sent to PCGS for re-holder and TV. I don't think there are too many 1995's floating around.

1861 Abraham Lincoln Presidential Token Medal 1878 by Brichaut
So these were made in Europe by this guy named Brichaut. There was a link showing all his past work on the various US President. I will post that link.
Here is that link other than that there were a few here posting about Brichaut but have not had time to research.
I also just bought one of the reference books Discovering America by Ralau 1989 maybe it will have some good information. It will be a week or more before I get it.

I actually won a lot at auction. This one year type has always been kind of fun. It's nice that folks saved a bunch of them:
Token..... Stamped at the back top of the charge card. Early type of token plate or credit card?
Thanks calgolddiver. I'm happy it went to a nice home.
