Something long on my bucket list of coins I hae wanted to own an example of just because of the history and the story of how they were created in contravention of the Crown's law:
This is the Noe-16 variety, minted ca. 1675-1682 when the Crown finally put the colonials and their mint out of business. One of the first streaks of independent thought and a disconnect from the so-called "Mother Country"

First purchase in 6 months and picked up from Pinnacle Rarities. Starting to upgrade the 5 rattlers I have since I cannot find the last three coins to finish my set.
Thanks, I was going to save up and send my Au 58 1921 peace to conservation. Then I decided why not just upgrade to Ms 62. I sold a few coins including the 1921 Au58 so I could buy the Ms 62. Now I am waiting for it to show up in the mail 👍
Picked up another gold love token. This one on a type 3 gold dollar. Acquired it for under spot. It might be impossible but are there any markers on the obverse that can help determine the year of the coin?

It's still looking pretty sparse. I just started back to collecting this series again after a bit of a respite. The obverse toning is what I'm going for mainly.... the reverse on this particular piece was a definite plus IMHO...

If your goal is to have a similar or consistent look as this one, you're in the right track.
Finally found one I liked. Came from an old collection out of Wyoming. Looks like a solid AU to me and hasnt been messed with.
Also appears to be a VAM 3 with doubling on the R in LIBERTY. I dont have pictures of that yet. I really like it though.
I was just thinking, now someone needs to post an 1854, but wait! I can do that! From Rick Snow, his photos, and this is a much more recent purchase as I work on a Dansco type set:
1973 California State Numismatic Association CSNA Old San Francisco Mint Numismatic Museum Dedication Medal.
This medal is really done nice. And it’s heavy

My first CBH. Might have started a fever. I actually made an offer on it a few weeks ago on eBay, but it was rejected. It sold right after for full price and I was so mad I let it go. Then I saw it pop up again last week and didn't hesitate to grab it. Lesson learned.

That looks like it was damaged in shipping. I would return it for one made correctly.

Scrapped some copper wire to offset the cost of the coin. Usually, I turn the copper into silver. But, I needed something gold for my registry set.
This BST buy was actually a couple years ago, but the TV is brand-new and legit adds to the enjoyment of my first AU53:
Pcgs really captured the color on this coin.
