I picked up a 1794 token last week. Part of the reason was that I’m studying my ancestry (along with the accompanying DNA test). It points pretty strongly to Norfolk, so I thought this was a nice token to celebrate that. This ancestry mainly comes from my paternal grandmother’s dad who came from just outside Norwich, and immigrated to Canada around 1910. My family name comes from Alsace, and the German-speaking Lutheran community there. They came to Canada in the 1840s. Still don’t know too much about my mother’s side as she was adopted (but some mysteries have been revealed).
@PCGSPhoto what a fantastic piece! And I love hearing about your heritage, please keep us posted.
I think I may have a few Norwich pieces .
.
. @ZoidMeister cabinets look great, what are you doing for countertops? Quartz?
Many, many years ago I was certified through NARI as certified remodeled (CR) and through the
Kitchen And Bath association I was certified kitchen (CKD) and bath designer(CBD). Besides architect and
general contractor(GC).......ha! So many acronyms.....lol

Living in the shadow of Stone Mountain, granite is plentiful and relatively inexpensive around here. Guys are coming to measure for them on Tuesday.
Here is a photo of the pattern piece at the store. Were getting the same sink as seen.
Not as impressive as everyone else’s but I’ve been looking for a good strike 26 D for some time.

here's a strange one for you.. bought this 2 weeks ago... because my mother had one and would let us play with it as kids saw it in my coin search and said the hell with it and bought it for a 20 ... Now there is one coming up in the next HA auction and a short article and pic in this months the "numismatists" about it (very short)

Here the 3 are in a row. All PCGS 58CAC. It's been moving along nicely. A couple easy ones left (1834,1836) and 3 harder ones (1834 Crosslet, 1838C, 1838D).
Daryl Haynor's book has been a huge help and I recommend anyone interested in Classic Head gold give it a read. I was also fortunate to connect with a dealer who specializes in these and he has been great to work with.

Got my copy of Coin Worlds "Making the Grade"
Excellent reference for grading coins in general.
The section on statehood and territorial quarters is worth the price by itself.
Great book for anyone interested in grading.
BST: KindaNewish (3/21/21), WQuarterFreddie (3/30/21), Meltdown (4/6/21), DBSTrader2 (5/5/21) AKA- unclemonkey on Blow Out
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
Great coin. Nice and original. Good color too.
@Along VERY nice Maine! Is it CAC'ed?
Put a "watch" bid on ebay and ended up winning it....Off brand plastic but coin is a nice example of the DDO.
bob
The discussion on the 1989 crash and some of the conflicting memories inspired these purchases. For my reference library.

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Wow! That's impressive to me, dude. Full Horn too. Nice woody appearance.
Also, do I see a bit of lamination next to "United"?
