Indeed. It’s everywhere. You can’t hide but you can lay low.

Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The actor, 63, confirmed the positive results on his Instagram Wednesday.

“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” Hanks wrote.

“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”

He added, “We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!”

Spent a week in and out of the hospital visiting my dad. They were checking everyone for a temp.

Now we are having a funeral for my father.

Hasn't stopped my mom's elderly friends from visiting or going to the church tomorrow.

My brother wanted nothing to do with it and hoped to keep it private.

    I agree but it's my mom's choice.

I worry more about my mother than myself...

The Houston Rodeo was canceled today, 9 days early. My wife is bummed as I was able to get her 4 really prime seats to see Gwen Staffani for her & 3 of her girlfriends. I'm still planning on attending my normal show circuit unless the shows are cancelled.

At this stage, being informed from reliable sources is the key, then doing what you need to do when plans get changed around you.

Not being worried because one is downplaying science and numbers is not advisable. For anyone that has had to deal with something like cancer, remember it started with just one bad cell somewhere. That's all it takes.

United States does not have a chance against this virus as we were never prepared. Our virus testing system has been a complete failure. Masks that prevent the spread of the virus are in short supply. There are no travel restriction between the states. No lock down in most hot spots, Every state is running their own program to battle the virus and there need to be a coordinated effort across the US. I am sure we will be better prepared the next time it happens, but this could end with the entire country on lock down. I must say that I have been impressed with many business, local communities and most states on how they have reacted to the virus. The Feds have done a poor job addressing the root problem "the Virus" but, have made an effort to address the financial impact of the virus. Stay informed and stay safe.

They look foolish and more unable to manage the fallout each day.

Banning travel and canceling events was something that should have been done two months ago.

I'm not a paranoid person and gave little thought to this prior to yesterday. However, it's become clear that those in their 70s and 80s are particularly vulnerable, and that people can carry and spread the virus with little or no symptoms. It is also true that coin conventions generally serve an older demographic, involve air travel, hand-shaking, meal-sharing, etc. It seems irresponsible to put people at risk unnecessarily. We would be much better served massively overreacting than pretending there's no issue. That's coming from a guy who thought this was completely overblown two weeks ago.

What I find most troubling is a travel ban from Europe but not the UK and Ireland. Like the germs recognize the borders or something. Insanity. This is a global event.

If I had to guess at this motivation, we really just wanted to ban travel of people who've been in Italy at this time, because of the enormous hotspot there, but as part of the EU, Italy has open borders with the rest of the EU. After Brexit, UK does not. I bet this ban gets extended to the UK before ban to EU is dropped.

And clearly why does it make sense to travel between continents right now?

Well, given your experiences, you are right that if there is going to be a ban, it should be wider--otherwise what's the point? Of course, given where we are now with cases in 45+ states,, there are already so many transmission chains in the US that any international travel ban isn't going to be terribly effective if not combined with restrictions on interstate and intra-state travel. This seems to be a situation where any top-down restrictions are not going to be nearly as effective as concerted efforts at the local and family level of social distancing, focusing in particular on at-risk populations (older citizens, or those with compromised immune systems).

Per Well Health, on average, the flu season will usually end by April, but in some years it can linger into May. There have been six years in the past where the peak was in March. I am hoping the coronavirus does not like summer and slows down like a typical flu and we can get back to normal soon.

Here are some simple early modeling numbers for the virus. Total case numbers with people infected with the virus have grown at a rough average rate of 30% a day in the US since the last week of February. At that rate, the US will have more than 8,000 tested cases by next week, 40,000 cases in two weeks, and nearly 150,000 cases by the end of the month. Keep in mind China has less than 81,000 tested cases. At this pace our US health care system will be overloaded before the end of the month.

We need to go into hot spot virus management now that would include the following:
    Lock down no public gathering
restricted travel in and out of area
Coronavirus testing for anyone with flu like symptoms
    Hazmat suits for emergency services
Required use of face masks for everyone outside of their residence
    Disinfectants used in public areas

If we do the above, we might have a chance to get this under control and save lives and the longer we wait the harder it gets to control. The government needs to step to the plate and provide the necessary gear and services to make this happen. I do not know about you, but I am tired of excuses, poor decisions and acting like there is low risk.

N-95 masks, hand sanitizer, alcohol preps, personal PPE. NONE AVAILABLE. AND I'm over 60 years old. Concerned ? Yes Panicky NOT EVEN CLOSE.

I stocked up on supplies, including N95 masks, 4-6 weeks ago. People, especially in the federal government with decision-making authority, should have seen this coming 2 months ago and started working on supply-chain solutions THEN. We are a day late and a dollar short.

Our Amazon masks are on back order. One of my China partners Fed Ex’d me some N95 masks last night. My wive asked if they come in leopard print

I don't want to get exposed, contaminated, sick or quarantined! I'm going detecting and playing more Xbox one, thank you very much. Peace Roy
