I’m 99.9% sure I’ll be buying this tonight. I’ve always wanted a Charlotte example and this is the minimum grade I want...
I find the surfaces to be exceptional. And, even though it’s an older slab, surprisingly it has a true-view.
The slab shot is pretty accurate to in-hand look:

I like it. Nice old gold look and color. Better than most Charlotte QE’s from the 1850’s, but the 58 usually is. Nice coin.
Thanks!

xf 45 one of my favorite grades, haven't found a fractional note that I like yet either.
Nice-looking, wholesome coin.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I did end up buying it.

I'm a bit late but I like the coin.
Nice coin; Doug Winter said that a lot of these branch mint gold coins ended upgrading later due to an evolution in understanding of how these were usually poorly struck.
Good pickup, congrats!
Exciting to me as it’s my first ever Charlotte example!

I think it's awesome.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I like it overall. I’d like it better as a 40 than a 45 but on these I personally tend to reward originality of surfaces first and technical grade second, provides that the cost is still roughly right.

What a nice warm colored gold coin. Nice find. Peace Roy

LOL, where have I heard about the evolution in understanding twelve years ago? Let's see, the top graders in the country running successful coin dealerships, or working decades at TPGS's (including the owners and finalizers) are still learning about "strike?" Give me a break! If you want to learn about poorly struck 1858-C Quarter Eagles. pull up that date on the Internet and look at the MS coins.
Remember, COMMERCIAL GRADING is all about "value." The OP's coin has great color!
Nice coin... Great pick up. Enjoy!!
It's gold, what's not to like.

I like it-looks original. Will there be more Charlottes to join it in the future??
Nice looking coin. Looks solid for the grade and the color adds to its eye appeal. I enjoyed putting together a set of these QEs several years ago. I might even venture back into that area a some point. They're just so leetle..
I hope so!

Here's a video to show it a little better...
