Very nice looks solid for the grade.
A nice Morgan... but, just based on the picture, it does look as if it has been 'assisted' a bit with that gold coloring...Just a gut reaction, ICBW...Cheers, RickO
not much but as they say "different strokes for different folks"

I am guessing MS63 at our host.
Like the coin.

It's... different?
With relatively clean surfaces, and especially considering it's a CC, I see no problem with the grade. Lustre looks good and the toning is attractive, though it's not spectacular. I'm not enamored by the coin, but that's just preference. I don't see anything wrong with it.
I like the overall look of the coin, but am bothered by distractions on Liberty's face, to the point where it wouldn't be for me.
It might be an example of a coin which I think is accurately graded, but which, for one reason or another, still doesn't appeal to me. There are many such coins.

Expensive coin, wrong holder, no sticker.
It doesn't look nice for that grade, but it could just be the images that I see.

Strike one-cheek
Strike two-color looks odd
Strike three- I am not a Morgan fan.
Not for me. I will bet someone will love it.
Perhaps the color explains the grade for those who think it is over-graded. This TPGS has put a value on the coin.
Definitely a 63 imo. I’d personally bid accordingly. Guarantee others won’t.
BHNC #248 … 130 and counting.
I'll buy THAT for a dollar!
But seriously, I like it. I think the grade fits ad I'm not bothered by the toning.
Cheers
Bob
I think it's nice

Looks like a lot of contact for a 64, but it is a nice coin. It'll bring a toning premium. If I were in the market for a 92-CC in 64, I would probably do a lot of comparison shopping, including looking at 63s, before jumping on this one.

If the price is right. I need that one too.

I think it would possibly cross at a 64. The color is okay to me, but might look better or worse in hand. [Disclaimer: I'm agnostic on "toners".]
A nice lustrous toner, nicely struck solid quality MS64. Numerous chatter Marks on face push it down to 64 grade.
I would price around $2400 (cpg).
A nice 5 star coin to have in inventory. Good upside potential. My target bid / offer around $1800.
the smaller pictures without the holder actually show the tone and overall coin better, including what seems like textile remnants. based on other Morgans I have seen the color resembles that from old "No Line Fatties" although they are usually more toned from the top. if anyone wants a link to the auction just PM, I think I saved it in my e-mails.
I think you just made it more expensive for yourself, there are few auctions that viewers as well as members do not know about, and if there in the market you just made them aware.
Sorry, but that's the way I see it, I am a Morgan fan, just not in that slab.

@Insider2 is correct, if you look at how grading services look at a coin when they grade it is to also base the decision of a grade on value, it is only a part of what they look at of course, but it is important.

I was thinking this when I first saw the coin. Would not buy as a 64.
It's OK, the thing that makes this coin stand out is the hot date.
If this was an 84-O, most of us would say "meh"' and move on. On Ebay, this coin would be "*** LOOK - MONSTER RAINBOW TONING *** LOOK!"

This is why I stay away from "toned" BU coins. Cant place a real premium on toning due to the wide range of opinions. I look for blast white examples if possible.
That being said, if you like it more power to you.
The ONLY opinion that matters concerning the toning on coins (besides AT or NT) IS THE OPINION OF THE FOLKS WHO PAY THE PREMIUM PRICE FOR THEM! I recall a $20 gold coin given a "special" name due to its color alone.
I think that the coin has too many marks on the face to grade MS-64. The toning is covering it up or distracting observers from seeing its sins.
This coin would not cross to PCGS in the same grade.
Not CAC
I like the color, but I just can't ever get over abrasions on the key focal area of a coin. On a silver dollar, the cheek has to be good.
In other areas of the internet, this is what some might call a "butterface".
pushed down to 64? not a chance.
and no bean
I don’t think he made it more expensive for himself. Because I believe that he’s smart enough not to have posted it the way he did, if he were interested in buying it.

I would be all over that. Nice 63 all day

Nice details but don't call me Morgan.
Needs a bath to remove the nasty. Dip and make her pretty again. Congrats!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

I really like the toning but the marks on the cheek make it a weak 64 IMHO.
For that reason; I would pass.

I think the marks on the cheek would prevent a cross to PCGS plastic... IMHO... and just based on the images provided... I think it's more a "63"
As for the toning, I'm on the fence on this one. I've seen camera angles that either enhance or downplay color. I'd really have to see this one in hand.

BHNC #203
I think its marketability is dependent if the buyer is a toner hobbyist and the price is right. Not a it must be CAC hobbyist, more of a toner guy. Coin sort of like a 4vert WR (fast, breakaway potential) vs a Mr Reliable (go to guy in crowd).
A CAC example of this issue would be possibly $550 more and may not have the toning eye appeal toner guy looking for. A CAC example wb priced around $2950 vs say $2400 for non CAC. Blue sheet same for both Pcgs and ngc on this one.
It’s an attractive coin which would fill the hole nicely. It definitely would attract attention at a show.
