PR65/CAC
This is what I picked up for my set today and I'm thrilled with it. It isn't perfect but it has eye appeal to spare.
What say you?

That’s a great looking early walker proof! I’d say PF64 - PF65.
I’m not great at grading proofs so I’ll say PR66.
TurtleCat Gold Dollars
PR65, and very nice.
I've never seen that kind of contrast on a '36 before! I won't hazard a guess at the numeric grade, but it sure is darn purdy!
64?
65.
Definitely 65, possibly with a green bean.
Is that ex MJ? His coin was pretty frosty too.
@Justacommeman
Nice... I'll go with PR65
65?...very, very nice!

Looks almost cameo! PR64?
I picked up a proof today too, my first proof Mercury. Love it!
Was this from the recent Legend sale?
They are amazing little coins with dished reflective fields aren't they? Nice PR67's can be had for reasonable sums.
Are you going to share it?
Nope, local-ish dealer
I can post their website now that this coin has been removed, don't want anyone cheating now do we?

64 shot 65 no cameo designation
That isn't MJ's coin. His was a 67.
This one looks like about a 65.

Still like yours a lot.
Nice frosty devices and dark mirrored fields.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Thanks. I didn't remember the grade. The frosted devices stuck out to me most.
I thought 65, but everyone has said that so I'll go 64+
I shared it here a couple hours ago. Very pleased with it! The gem Indian also arrived today, a wow coin.

It's impossible to give an insightful grade on a brilliant proof such as this coin from simply a pair of images. However, I can absolutely tell you that this coin appears terrific and that it is the big kahuna of late date WLH proofs. I like it.

Nice coin!
At least a 65, maybe 65+?

Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.
PR-64 because it has a few light scratches in the obverse fields.
I have had an on again, off again interest in collecting the Proof coins from 1936 to 1942.
I can size up most coins pretty well from decent auction house photos, but I've learned that's not really possible with Proof coins. You have to see them to grade them.
With all the cautions regarding grading proof coins from photos...I will say PR64....Cheers, RickO

Well done to all the 65 assessments

Very nice 65.
Very nice! It is hard to find this date with any appreciable frost. The jet black mirrors are also a nice bonus.
that is a great looking coin.
A sun away from CAM and the sweet spot before it gets crazy exspencive. Well bought

I love the frosty proofs from this era but dislike the substandard die polish practice of the times. There was a beautiful Pf 66 Star coin available recently that had fully frosted devices and cost over 10k. Mine is Pf 66 toned CAC with PCGS and NGC certification.
They were figuring out the process during early proof production
Here's how it looks in hand, light is a window behind me. Tried to get lots of angles. It's not quite as contrasted as the still images make it look but really for a 36 I think it is great.

Outstanding, especially with that cameo contrast.
Love the cameo contrast. Exactly what I look for in a proof WLH. Unfortunately lacking the frost on the sun required for true CAM status, but way ahead of the proofs that lack contrast altogether.
