NNC is a self slabber that has been discussed here many times, always moon grades on problem and dog ugly coins.

Yikes. AT gone real bad. Probably nothing can save it. I’d buy it for melt and a cautionary tale.

Let me know when the eclipse is over so I can see the entire coin.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

I recently saw a heavily cleaned XF early half dollar in an NNC MS63 holder in a dealer's case. The dealer was at least honest about the coin, but still, that's all you need to know.

Early American Copper, Bust and Seated.

I am looking forward to busting it out when it arrives. I am going to document it with pics when I send it in to see just how wide the chasm is between our host grade on it and NNC

Don't be surprised if it comes back Genuine.

Or better yet genuine and AT and cleaned. Maybe it will get the body bag if they still do that

They put Genuine coins in a slab now unless you expressly tell them not to.

Just amazing.... Not sure how much of those marks are on the slab, and how many on the coin.... Though that is really not important... Coin has been AT'd to death....Since you are going to send it in, the results will be interesting, but do not get your hopes too high....Good luck, Cheers, RickO

There is no consistency to NNC grading at all. So, you can't really quantify the "chasm" between NNC and anyone else. You will see AU coins in 65 holders as well as 64s in 65 holders.

All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.

OK but for $60 or less you can buy a problem-free, very nice 81-S. Don't be disappointed... lots of warnings above.

If that is the price on the top right of the slab then yes I will take it, shipped.
