Using metal forceps might risk scratching the surface if the tips slip off a coin's device, or the forceps placement is uneven or if the grip of the person holding is unsteady. I'd suggest only using tongs or forceps if the tips are well-padded so they won't potentially do damage.

Some times I'l luse a flashlight reflector, this is the only image I quickly find. Then I may wedge it between something.
Then I wonder why bother.
Wait. What??? What just happened, here? My pea-brain doesn't quite understand. Can you explain in detail (to an apparent ignoramous!) how you got this accomplished?

The flashlight reflector tip has been here on the forums for many years... surprised that there are still members who have not seen it used....Works well, in spite of some distortion... allows a 360 degree view. Cheers, RickO

But, stamps are made of paper and a lot more fragile than a half dollar. Logic would tell you that is a very safe way to handle your coins.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Get a pair of PLASTIC "Spring Clamps" from Wolfcraft on the internet. Great for conservation too (Not for acetone use).

Agree, What an amazing trick! You should patent that invention of yours!

Rocking my "shiny-object-syndrome"!!!
Ever done a patent? Expensive. Better sell a LOT of what you patent.
It's much less expensive to read between the lines of something that may already have a patent.
Preston chango! Voila! Nice tip. I just dissected a flashlight. Peace Roy

I would not use metal tweezers to handle coins.
