Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Very nice! Congrats!
love that coin.
an interesting tidbit:
I bought a 1955 DDO cent in a ANACS holder graded MS-60 in 2004 and years later crossed it to PCGS. I was actually thrilled when PCGS was super tough on crossing it at AU-58 four years ago because I then knew I had a shot on getting a CAC gold sticker on the new slab. I was right.
JA loved it.
I would love to see a picture of that coin, because I sold you a 55DDO that matches that description.
Really nice example!
Whatever you are, be a good one. ---- Abraham Lincoln
I still feel sad knowing I had three of these when I was a kid... bright red....alas, as I have mentioned here before, they disappeared when my Mom cleaned out my room after I joined the Navy....oh well...easy come, easy go... Cheers, RickO
That is a painful story that already occurred to me when I saw this AU58 that apparently passed through a few hands before being recognized and preserved.
Rest assured, your 55s are still out there and no doubt are making some collectors very happy.
When those coins were released back into circulation, three people got a thrill they never forgot!
Yay, mom!
That's one coin I've never owned or had in the shop. Strange.
Keep thinking of getting one.
Very nice!

How about the paper boy that scratched the 43 Copper cent to see if it was plated or was that a hoax?

Nice coin. Congrats on the bean.
The 1955 DD is one of those coins that captures the imagination of young collectors and that interest usually carries forward as they get older.
I always wanted a 55/55 and maybe will get one some day.
Maybe I'll wait to see if coin collecting collapses the way stamp collecting did, and then I can get one at face value.
wicked nice I like
That is a really nice coin. I've not strayed much from SLQs, but have now recently started to think I should branch out and collect some keys, this being one I would certainly consider.
Very nice!
I have an old anacs au58 that I've been debating crossing(crackout really). I've had it since about 2000.

Wish I had one like that. Congrats.
My mom used one to pay the water bill. She even commented on how the "guy must have been drunk" hat made it as she's handing it to the teller... who, I'm sure said nothing as he took it and replaced it with a different cent into the till.
