Nice pics thanks for sharing. I love that civil war chess set. Had I been there I would have made it mine....

I would have jumped on that chess set in a second. Great shots of the Gemini & Apollo related materials.

nice pictures!! when I attended the FUN Show around 2003-4 the attendance seemed much larger than anything any of this year's reports show. also, I took my GF to Baltimore one year and she spent an afternoon in the Exhibits, really enjoyed them. thanks for the pictures from this year.

Great idea to post the exhibits. It gives me an idea for the FUN Board. Publish all of the exhibits on the FUN website.

Thank you for posting the photographs of the FUN show exhibits.

I did not know of the connection between the Roman Emperor Elagabalus (AD 218-222) and Halley's Comet.

I have one of the coins shown in the exhibit:

    image
Silver, 21 mm, 3.76 gm, Catalog: RIC 46
    Struck: AD 221 Rome
    Obverse:
Horned, laureate, and draped bust right
    IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG
    Reverse:
Elagabalus in Syrian priest dress standing left, lighted altar, star (comet?) left
PM TRP IIII COS III PP

The "worst" or least-visible appearance in 2,000 years:

Thanks for posting. Definitely some "fun" stuff in there from FUN.

Nice to see the 50 year anniversary of Man's first step on the moon was prominently featured in the displays for this year. Also like the double tailed Halley's Comet numismatic preserved history from the Roman Empire.

I looked at a few specimens at dealers tables AFTER seeing the exhibit. Your coin has a star. There were others in the exhibit with a TAIL on the star. I'm going to buy one of those when I see a few more and work out a good price range. The coins are not rare but they are popular.

Thank you so much for the fabulous report and pix. I was impressed with the aviator wings display and all the others. Some important stuff and IMHO serious scholarship. And if I may, how did you obtain the CMH? Please advise?
